36 MonthsBachelor of Arts (BA) Honours in Persian is a full-time three-year undergraduate degree course offered by the University of Calcutta, Kolkata.
Among the faculty members of the past, Mrs. Fatima Begum taught Persian in 1939.Prof. Mujibur Rahman, was the only male teacher in the college, because at that time qualified women teachers were not available in Persian. Nevertheless, he single-handedly taught Honours Course and prepared students for the finals for several years. Students made great progress and achieved ranks in the university under his guidance. When he was transferred to Maulana Azad College, Prof. Kulsum Jalil , Prof. Fatima Mahmood, and Prof. Husna Bano steered the department. They rendered great service to the students with all sincerity and dedication. Several students made great academic achievements and won gold and silver medals from the university and college. It is a matter of pride that all present teachers are college Alumni.
Eligibility Criteria
A student must have passed Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto.
