About Lowry Memorial College, Bengaluru
Lowry Memorial College has been set up in 1998, and is one of the leading colleges in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Located in Dooravaninagar, this affiliated college is located right across the K. R. Puram Railway Station and occupy a total of 50 acres of land. The institution has continued to expand since its establishment, and currently, the institution has four program diversity and enroll 369 students. The current faculty of Lowry Memorial College encompasses 27 people, the proportion of students to teachers is rather favorable, which allows giving every student individual attention and provide high level of education.
They include well equipped teaching laboratories, library, recreation facilities, dining hall, nurses station and other amenities. On the central part of the campus, a proposed amphitheater for cultural plays and other social activities with accommodation of 3,000 people was designed. The students have full privileges of a colorful student life with facilities for the central Library, modern equipped laboratories, well-equipped Gymkhana building with a spectator capacity of 5,000. The complex focuses in several sports such as athletic, cricket, football, and badminton among others. For those who live in the college’s hostels, separate facilities are available of men and women including air conditioned, fully furnished rooms and 24 hour hot water, accompanied by security services available 24/7. The existing physical facilities in the campus includes a cafeteria, a canteen and a small convenient store, while a dispensary under the care of a registered nurse will meet the health care needs of the college.
Lowry Memorial College encompasses four full course programs which has a focus in different specializations. The undergraduate programmes comprise the three year B.Com, BCA and BBA programmes. At post graduate level, the college offers a two years Master of Commerce program of the Tribhuvan University. The idea embedded in all courses offered is to give the students sufficient depth about the discipline they have chosen for them to be productive ink the today’s dynamic job market.
