About Manasa College of Education, Kothakota

Affiliated college Manasa College of Education, Kothakota was established in the year 2003 is located in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana state. This is a teacher education institution, recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college is located on a 5 acre acre compound, thus providing the best environment for those preparing to be teachers. Evidently, Manasa College of Education admits two hundred students in total and has a team of eight faculty members. The college currently has only one programme, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) in its learning portfolio to enhance credible players for the education sector.

Manasa College of Education has a number of learning amenities that are intended to facilitate learning in the institution. This is part of academic facilities and show that library is computerised and surrounded with e-library amenities. It has over 10,000 volumes prospective membership, journals for the nation and periodicals for students together with magazines that have all the information students need. To supports the theory with the practice the college sustains several important laboratories. Among these are; computer and multimedia lab, psychology, technology and science practical labs for practical exposure in support of theoretical knowledge. Only the B.Ed programme is offered by Manasa College of Education and it is a full time duration of two years programme. This programme has an approved intake of 100 students which show readiness and capacity of the college to train aspiring teachers each year at an enhanced level. 

Admissions to Manasa College of Education is strictly on merit system – based on the admission policies of the state government, Union Territory administration, and the university to which the college is affiliated. Selections are made according to the percentage one gets in the qualifying exam and/or the entrance test.

Manasa College of Education, is one of the most famous teacher education institutions located in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana. The college is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), and presents a full-fledged Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program aimed at creating future educators. The admissions process in Manasa College of Education is governed by merit according to the policy of the state government, Union Territory administration, and the respective university. The college generally commences the admission process for the academic year around June-July. 

Depending on the admission criteria being applied at a given time, performance of the applicant in qualifying examination and/or entrance tests shall be considered. The general eligibility criteria for admission to the B.Ed. Program are that the candidate should have a graduation degree from a recognized university. Preferred subject requirements may vary, but a good command of the subjects is usually looked for. The selection procedure is holistic, which means other than academic grades the college considers the potential of the candidate towards teaching and his/her dedication towards the field of education.

Application Process

Normally the application process for admission to B.Ed. Program at Manasa College of Education, Kothakota, runs along the following lines:

1. Notification: An admission notification is released by the college on the official website and in other media to announce the beginning of the admission process.

2. Application Form: Candidates will have to obtain and fill out the application form which can be provided online on the college website or physically available from the college campus. 

3. Document Submission: Candidates are required to submit the following documents along with the duly filled application form:

  • Graduation degree certificate & mark sheets
  • 10+2 or equivalent certificate and mark sheets
  • Valid ID proof
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Any other document specified in the admission notification

4. Application Fee: Candidates must pay the required application fee. The mode of payment and the amount will be specified in the admission notification.

5. Entrance Examination: If applicable, candidates may have to appear for an entrance examination on a state or university level for admissions into the B.Ed. program.

6. Merit List: Based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test results, a merit list would be prepared for the eligible candidates.

7. Counseling and Seat Allocation: Counseling of candidates will be held and allocation of seats will be done with reference to merit and availability.

8. Admission Confirmation: The selected candidates have to confirm their admission by paying the requisite fees and submitting their original documents for verification in the given time frame.

9. Orientation: An orientation program is usually conducted for students soon after admission, before the beginning of classes.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed: The Bachelor of Education course is a full-time, two-year program at Manasa College of Education with an annual intake of 100 students. The B.Ed admission procedure is merit-based, awarding marks in the qualifying examination and/or no more than the conduct of two pertinent examination entrances. Selection may be subjectable to other criteria according to the policies of the State Government and the concerned University.

Eligibility criteria for B.Ed:

  1. Graduation from any recognized university.
  2. The specific minimum required percentage in the qualifying examination may vary and is usually incorporated in the admission notification.
  3. Qualifying an entrance exam on a state or university level may be required for gaining admission into B.Ed., as per the prevailing rules.

Presently the college does not offer any degree courses other than B.Ed.
