Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Shivajinagar, Pune, is an autonomous college in Maharashtra state which was founded in 1970. The college in question has achieved National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accreditation, which shows a dedicated endeavour to quality. The student population at the CHRIST stands at 9,570, with 82 per cent being undergraduate students and the rest postgraduate students, and the institute teaches 64 courses under 13 degree programmes. The college has an adequate number of faculty, comprising 132 number of faculties which results in a good number of students per faculty. The specialisations offered at Modern College are diverse with cut across the Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Application and Management streams.
Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce, located in Shivajinagar, Pune, was established in 1970 and is affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). The college is accredited by NAAC with an 'A+' grade and has been awarded the Best College Award by SPPU multiple times. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and doctoral programmes in Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Science, Business Administration, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Animation, and Performing Arts. The college has been autonomous since the academic year 2019-20, meaning it designs its own syllabus and conducts its own examinations, but degrees are awarded by SPPU.
Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce offers a wide range of amenities to complement the learning process of the students. Internet, Web-OPAC, and online database facilities are available as the library is equipped with modern technology. E-books, e-journals, and the online information literacy programme highlight value for students. A college has sophisticated practical lessons, rooms and laboratories, a hall for gatherings, seminars, and shows and games and sports complexes for students’ physical personality development. For out-of-station students, there is a dormitory facility for both boys and girls in the college hostel. For boys, 64 seats are available, and for girls, 120 seats are available in the college. Other features being offered include a canteen, health centre, gym, as well as IT facilities. The Recruitment Services and Placement Office effectively coordinates and manages all campus recruitment activities for students for their placements.
Modern College has opened many courses in all the departments of the college. The institute offers 64 courses and provides full-time undergraduate and postgraduate education, PhD, etc. Total student volume throughout all the courses is 8,471 students. These are as follows: B.Com with 1440 intakes, B.Sc Physics with 240 intakes, B.Sc Chemistry with 240 intakes and B.Sc Computer Science with 180 intakes. The college also runs some niche courses such as BBA International Business, M.Sc Biotechnology, and B.Voc Fashion Technology and Apparel Design to meet other career streams and prohibition.

The most common method of admission in Modern College is on performance based on merit. Hey dear, you need to mention what college are you asking about. Cutoff varies every year, if you see the last year's cutoff which went very high that even students getting 500 marks were unable to get govt. Mbbs college. So, with 454 if you belong to general category you won't get a govt. Mbbs seat, although you have chances for govt. Bams and bhms, just stay tuned to the counselling.
