MS Ramaiah Institute of Nursing Education and Research (RINER), Bangalore, Karnataka, was founded in the year 1987. The following affiliated college approved by the INC (Indian Nursing Council) offers a range of courses in nursing in the categories of diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate. Located on a large acreage of 70 acres, the RINER enrols 508 students and employs 21 faculty staffs. The additional approved intake for all courses is overall 225 numbers. B.Sc Nursing, has 100 seat intake and the GNM course has a seating capacity for 60 students. Post Basic B.Sc Nursing: This is a course taken by 30 students. Individuals who have undergone GNM General Nursing and Midwifery are eligible.
M.Sc Nursing: RINER offers specialization in Medical Surgical Nursing (15 seats), Psychiatric Nursing (5 seats), Paediatric Nursing (5 seats), Community Health Nursing (5 seats) and Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing (5 seats). Usually admission is given based upon the performance of the candidate for their B.Sc Nursing degree and suitable entrance tests.
