The Muslim Arts College at Thiruvithancode in Kanyakumari District of Tamil Nadu provides opportunities for higher studies and has carved a niche for itself, developing young talents for about 40 years now.  Muslim Arts College's admission process aims to select deserving candidates for its academic programs. Specific dates may differ from admission cycle to admission cycle; however, it generally commences some months prior to the academic year, starting mostly in June or July. 

Under the merit system, most courses admit candidates based on admission criteria set by the College. Oftentimes undergraduate programs require successful completions of 10+2 from a recognized board while for postgraduate programs a bachelor's degree is required in the subject concerned. Perhaps an evaluation of marks obtained in either qualifying exams or relevant entrance (where necessary) tests will be accorded consideration as well in the selection.

Application Process

1. Obtain the application form: The application form can be obtained from the college office with or without a fee or can be downloaded from the official website.

2. Fill out the application form: The applicant should fill out the application form with true personal and academic particulars as required. Be sure to fill out all the areas needing completion, and that it is correct.

3. Attach documents: The applicants should huddle in self-attested photocopies along with the filled application forms of:

• Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets (for UG courses)
• Degree certificate and mark sheets (for PG courses)
• Transfer Certificate
• Community Certificate (if applicable)
• Passport size images

4. Submission of the application: Submission of the completed application form will be made to the college admission office before the last date.

5. Admission test/interview: Depending on the program and the number of applications received, the college may conduct an admission test or interview for shortlisted candidates.

6. Merit Individual List: The college will publish the merit list of the selected candidates based on academic performance and/or admission test/interview.

7. Verification of documents: Shortlisted candidates will be required to bring all original documents for verification to the college.

8. Payment of Fees: Subsequent to the successful verification, the admission fee is to be deposited by the candidates to reserve their seat in the selected program.

9. Orientation: The admitted candidates will be invited to attend the Orientation program which will make them familiar with the college infrastructure, staff, and academic expectations.

Degree-wise admission process

B.Com and B.Com (Hons): Admission to B.Com programs is based on the percentage of marks obtained in the 10+2. Subjects on which emphasis is laid are Accountancy, Business Studies, and Mathematics. The programs offered are regular B.Com and B.Com (Hons).

B.Sc Programs: Many B.Sc programs such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Computer Science, Fashion Technology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Hotel Management and Catering Science, and Visual Communication are offered at MAC. Admission to these programs is usually based on the marks secured in the 10+2 examination in the relevant science subjects.

BA Programs: The BA programs offered by the college are in English Literature, Tamil Literature, History and Tourism, Public Administration, and Arabic Literature. Admission to these programs is generally based on the marks secured in the 10+2 examination in the relevant subjects.

BBA and BCA: For admission to BBA and BCA, performance in the 10+2 examination as a whole is taken into consideration, with preference going to students who have studied Mathematics or Computer Science.

M.Sc Programs: Various M.Sc programs are offered at MAC including Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Hotel Management and Catering Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, Environmental Science, and Artificial Intelligence. The admission procedure for these programs involves assessing the marks based on the concerned bachelor's degree.

MA Programs: The college offers MA programs in English Literature, Tamil Literature, History, Public Administration, and Arabic Literature. Admission is based on the marks of the relevant bachelor's degree.

Admission to M.Com is based on results attained in B.Com or any equivalent degree.

For admission to Bachelor of Library and Information Science, there is a criteria of judging performance in any Bachelor's degree.
