Namboodiris College of Teacher Education is an esteemed college based at Irinjalakuda, Kerala formed with an intention to build the future of education. This co-educational college was founded in 2009 and over the years it became a recognizable college for the training of teachers. Accredited to the University of Calicut, the college has the permission of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) which guarantees a desire for better educational quality. Having a total student capacity of 100 students and a faculty of 9, Namboodiris has a small student intake which makes it possible for students to be very much in touch with their teachers.
Namboodiris College of Teacher Education has a facility that aims to improve the learning outcomes of the students that attend the facility. Central to these are a library with complete collections of books, journals, magazines and digital media resources on different facet of education and teaching. For those with passion in sporting activities, the college provides exercising equipments to enable students have better healthy life styles during work and study. Though Namboodiris is not technology impaired – it has a computerised lab with internet connection where after making students undergo training sessions in different software packages for sharpening their IT skills, the lab is air conditioned.
Namboodiris College of Teacher Education currently offers one primary course: the program referred to as Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). PRI’s is a two-year full time course which prepares prospective teachers to meet the challenges and requirements of a professional education.
