NIFT Eligibility Criteria 2018 for B.Des (Fashion Design/Leather Design/Accessory Design/Textile Design/Knitwear Design/Fashion Communication)

• The +2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education/State Board New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi

Or

• General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/International Baccalaureate (IB)

Or

• Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system

Or

• A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects

Or

• 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education

Going by the last few years' trends, there are very low chances of getting Fashion Design at NIFT. But you can use the college predictor to get a more clear idea of the campuses where you can get admission.

I would advise u to attend the counselling. you will not be able to get one of the top 5 centers but the centres like Kannaur, Kangra, Rae Barelli etc could be in ur reach.

NIFT 2018 General Ability Test (GAT) for Bachelor of Design (B.Des.)

Section wise Topics for NIFT 2018 GAT for B.Des

1. English Comprehension: This tests the candidate’s ability to comprehend a situation from a given passage, along with a test of basic English language.

2. Quantitative Ability: This tests the quantitative ability of the candidates. It includes questions on division, fractions, percentages, addition, multiplication, the rate of interest, ratio and proportion, distance, and work and task.

3. Communication Ability: This section will judge candidates’ language ability in day to day communication in English. Questions from correct spellings, one-word substitutes, idioms and phrases, synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, etc. will be asked.

4. Analytical Ability: This tests the candidate’s capacity for ability of inference and logic from the given information.

5. General Knowledge and Current Affairs: This judges the candidate’s general knowledge and current affairs.
