PET Engineering College is located at a strategic location in Tirunelveli city of Tamil Nadu, India by the year 1998. This affiliated college, approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi and accredited by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore offers a wide.branch of engineering and management disciplines. Accredited with AICTE, PET Engineering College is a private institution, having a campus area of 36 acres, having a total enrolled students of 896 and faculty of 98. The institute offers 10 courses spread in four degree programmes of engineering that are computer science and engineering, electronics and communication, electrical and electronics, mechanical engineering and so on.
It will achieve this by offering quality learning environment and equipment so as to endorse the physical learning facilities among PET Engineering College going students. Modern facilities of the campus include well-equipped laboratory for every department so that they may get practical knowledge. In addition there is a central library with 36122 volumes of books in different fields of engineering, 66 national journals and 46 magazines. The facility of IT in this college consist of Common Computer Centre with 36 Core i5 systems and 16 Mbps leased line internet connection.. The physical need of students is well addressed through the availability of modern multi gym and adequate sports facility for indoor and outdoor sports.
At present, PET Engineering College provides various course conveniences with 6 undergraduate programmes, 3 postgraduate programmes, and 1 doctoral programme . Currently, the institute offers only full time programme in the engineering disciplines of Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering respectively. There are postgraduate courses such as ME in Computer Science and Engineering, ME in Communication Systems, MBA and MCA. The admission for the PET Engineering College for the undergraduate courses are associated with the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) rules on the single window counseling system. While admission to the postgraduate courses, special TANCET rules are followed in the college. The college accepts scores of different exams such as TANCET and CEETA-PG. Those candidates who want admission under the government quota for the Anna University, Chennai, have to follow the process indicated above. It also has hostel facilities for boys and girls to complete 91 rooms for 348 boys and 67 rooms for 286 girls. These hostels have comfortable furniture, delicious food and also appropriate conditions for learning and strengthening. PET Engineering College, Tirunelveli (PETEC)- A venture of education from earlier days and various engineering and management programs. Admission is offered to students under structured guidelines, i.e. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) for undergraduate courses, while Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) regulations govern admissions for postgraduate courses. AICTE approval and NAAC accreditation characterize PETEC to offer assurance for quality education to students.
With respect to PETEC, the entire admission cycle starts with the notification about the dates of entrance examination by the relevant authorities. TNEA attracts admissions to the undergraduate engineering programs through the Single Window Counselling System. Admission for MBA and MCA comes under the TANCET provisions, while certain postgraduate programs also consider CEETA-PG.
There are various candidate eligibility criteria based on the program of interest. All undergraduate courses in engineering require a pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics to be accepted as an applicant, while a degree in relation to a course is a requirement of postgraduates. Further specific requirements for eligibility by program are discussed in the degree-wise admission procedure section.
Application Process
In PET Engineering College, the application process is really different according to the program:
B.E. Programs:
1. Qualify in the 10+2 examination with necessary subjects and a minimum of marks.
2. Apply for TNEA counselling on the official TNEA website.
3. Fill the application form and pay the application fee.
4. Attend Single Window Counselling.
5. Attend PETEC for document verification and admission process if allots a seat at PETEC.
For MBA and MCA Programs:
1. Qualify in TANCET exam.
2. Register for TANCET counselling after declaration of results.
3. Fill out the PETEC application form on the prescribed portal.
4. Attend counselling as per the established schedule by authorities.
5. Finally, if selected, attend PETEC for document verification and admission process formalities.
For M.E. Programs:
1. TANCET or CEETA-PG evaluation to be qualified.
2. Admission process through TANCET
3. Participating in the counseling according to the announced schedule.
4. If allocated with a seat at PETEC, complete the admission formalities at the college.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.E. Courses: The B.E program will include Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics, and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science within PETEC. Admissions in these programs will be handled through TNEA Single Window Counselling. The government quota applicant must submit their application to Anna University, Chennai. Each B.E. program differs in terms of the number of total intakes, in which Computer Science and Engineering holds the majority with an intake of 90 seats.
MBA Program: The MBA offered in PETEC has an approved intake of 120. Admission for the same is based on TANCET scores and other rules hence set by the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test. Candidates would then have to participate in the Further Counselling process released by the respective authority.
MCA Program: The MCA program takes in 60 seats and follows the TANCET admission process. Qualification for entry requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and scoring well in the above-mentioned exam.
M.E. Programs: M.E. in Computer Science and Engineering and Communication Systems, each with an intake of 24, will also be offered at PETEC. Both of these programs are also governed by TANCET regulations. Eligibility for applying includes candidates having the graduate degree from B.E./B.Tech in a related discipline.

Admission to college of engineering, Pune takes place through both JEE MAINS marks and CET marks as well. But through JEE MAINS, you need decent marks in it and also in boards you need 75% and above for general category. And MHT CCET score merit based can give you admission to COE, Pune as well and boards criteria for general unreserved category is 50% and above in boards.

Also since COE PUNE is a government colleges, it has decently high cutoffs comparatively like above 170 in CET and above 180 in MAINS (JEE).
