Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course is the duration of 5.5 years, which include 4.5 years of curriculum plus 1 year of rotating internship, offered by Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur and approved by Medical Council of India.

Eligibility Criteria

  • a) The MBBS course is a four and half year period followed by one year compulsory rotating medical internship. The 12-month internship includes rotations in Community health, Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Child health, Orthopedics, Emergency medicine and various specialties. All these are according to the guidelines of National Medical Commission of India. Admission to the MBBS Programme is based on the candidate marks obtained in the NEET-UG rank held by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
  • b) Eligibility: 17 years of age or above as on 31st December'2021 of the admission year. The maximum age limit to Study MBBS Course is 25 years. (However, as per SLP (C) No. 14320/2018 and vide interim order dated 29.11.2018, candidates older than 25 years were allowed to appear in the Medical Entrance Test provisionally).

    All Higher Secondary School students with 10+2 in science stream including biology or biotechnology along with Physics and Chemistry with a minimum of 50% marks are eligible.(In ca e of SC/ST 40% in board examinations, 45% for OBC Category).

Admission Details

It is compulsory for medical enthusiasts' to appear for the National Eligibility and Entrance Examination (NEET) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NAT) after 12th grade who wish to get MBBS admission.

Admission Quota of PKDIMS :
Merit Seats: 85% and NRI Seats: 15%.
