Degree wise Admission Process
D.Ed Special Education (Mental Retardation / Deaf and Hard of Hearing): Admission procedure for D.Ed programmes are based on merit, where selected candidates will be those who qualify on the basis of qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. Depending on the nature of the programs and the state government or UT administration policy, the specific selection procedure might differ. These programs are specially designed to train teachers that teach students suffering from mental retardation or hearing impairment.
B.Ed Special Education (Mental Retardation): The students desiring admission for the B.Ed Special Education in Mental Retardation need to secure at least 50% marks in both their Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Sciences, Social Sciences or Humanities. Alternatively, students who have a Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology, specializing in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks, will also work. The program focuses on preparing educators to work with students with intellectual disabilities.
B.Ed Special Education (Visual Impairment): The eligibility criteria for B.Ed Special Education in Visual Impairment remain similar to that of the Mental Retardation specialization.
