Pragathi Charities College of Special Education, is one of the few specialized colleges for training personnel in the area of special education. Located in Andhra Pradesh, affiliated to A.P. The college offers four full-time programs spanning mainly two major programs: D.Ed (Diploma in Education) and B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) in Special Education.

B.Ed Special Education (Mental Retardation): The students desiring admission for the B.Ed Special Education in Mental Retardation need to secure at least 50% marks in both their Bachelor's degree and Master's degree in Sciences, Social Sciences or Humanities. Alternatively, students who have a Bachelor's in Engineering or Technology, specializing in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks, will also work. The program focuses on preparing educators to work with students with intellectual disabilities.

B.Ed Special Education (Visual Impairment): The eligibility criteria for B.Ed Special Education in Visual Impairment remain similar to that of the Mental Retardation specialization. Candidates are required to secure at least 50% marks in their Bachelor's and Master's degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, or Humanities. Engineers or Technology graduates with 55% marks in Science and Mathematics specializations are also eligible. This program trains educators to work with visually impaired students.
