About PSN College of Engineering and Technology, Tirunelveli
PSN College of Engineering and Technology commonly known as PSNCOET was established in the year 2001 is one of the esteemed institution situated in the lush green Tennament city Tirunelveli of Tamilnadu. Anna University, Chennai affiliated self financing college provides a plethora of engineering and management courses. Situated in sprawling 27 acre campus, PSNCOET has a total student intake capacity of 2110 and has a total faculty of 150. The institute was recognized by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). With a diverse student body comprising 1,418 male and 362 female students, PSNCOET maintains a co-educational environment with a 4:1 male-to-female ratio.
The infrastructure facilities provided in PSN College of Engineering and Technology offers are up to date to support the overall learning enhancement of its students. The campus comprises of boys’ hostels with a capacity of 850 boys and girls hostels with a capacity of 500 girls. These hostels give accommodation that offers a hygienically clean environment for study in addition to 24hours water supply and power supply. The college loves its student health with a 16 bed medical center with two doctors and five nurses and a 24 hour ambulance service a day. A well-earned library has more than 60,500 volumes of texts including textbooks and journals and a digital library with the very best Internet connectivity. This way of sports fans has large complex services; a present-day gym likewise fulfills fitness requirements of the populace. There is availability of wireless networking on the campus, which provide internet upgradings. Other services include a restaurant which offers various foods, a hall for gatherings occasions and Road transport facilities to most areas within and around Tirunelveli.
The institute awards a total of 19 courses touching on three levels of the degree. This consists of undergraduate programmes including B.E., B.Tech; postgraduate programmes including M.E., M.Tech and MBA; and doctorate degree programme. The college has the major concentration on the engineering fields where the basic and sought courses are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering etc. The MBA programme is also a major business, which has TANCET scores for the admission process.
The admission process of PSNCOET differs programme by programme. While admissions to B.Tech programmes are done as per the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling. The TNEA couselling for all B.Tech programmes for general category will commence from July 29, 2024 to September 03, 2024. M.Tech and MBA courses are available where admission criteria rely on the rank that a student obtained in their respective examination. In particular, Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test is considered and recognized as a prerequisite to study in an MBA programme.
PSNCOET provides scholarships to help the students financially. Out of 1643 undergraduate students, 713 and out of 137 postgraduate students, 26 students were reimbursed showing the college’s responsibility for affordable education in the academic year 2020.The college industry linkages are very good to enhance healthy placement facility for the students of the college. Writing placement process they involve aptitude test, group discussion and interviews done by leading employers. However, place specific transition statistics are not shared and the college insists on the availability of its commitment to supporting students’ transitional career development.
