Bachelor of Social Work is an undergraduate programme in social work initiated by Rajagiri School of Social Work in the year 2002, first of its kind in Kerala. BSW is a four year (Eight semesters) academic programme, with an option for exit in the third year with BSW degree. This programme focuses on sensitizing young aspirants of Social Work Profession to social issues by developing social awareness and molding them to be professional social workers. BSW programme imparts knowledge, skills and attitude that are essential for an individual to bring changes in the life of marginalized and underprivileged sections of society. BSW is a foundational social work programme, aiming at training for delivering human services through widening the horizons of perspectives with a global standard. The transnational exposure provided by Rajagiri makes BSW programme a distinctive one. This programme moulds socially committed and professionally competent young social workers to contribute towards the social development of the country.

The BSW (Hons.) programme is a four year (Eight semesters) academic programme, with an option for exit in the third year with BSW degree.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidate who have passed plus two or equivalent examination recognized by the M.G. University as equivalent thereto.

Candidates awaiting results of the qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply for admission provided they shall produce the proof of qualification on or before the date of admission by the College.

Admission Details

Admission to BSW programme of Rajagiri College of Social Sciences (Autonomous) is based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Government norms of admission requirements will be observed in the case of SC/ST and other reserved categories. Additional weightage for students opted Social Work, Sociology and Gandhian Studies at Plus Two will be considered as per the M.G. University norms for admissions. Bonus marks for NCC, NSS, Ex-servicemen applicants and widows and children of Jawans and Ex-servicemen shall be awarded as per the M.G. University norms for admissions.

Applicants will be called for a personal interview and the date of interview will be intimated via Email.

College Infrastructure

The college was well equipped with all the latest infrastructure needed for students. The classrooms, labs were luxurious. The hostel facility was not upto the mark but still adjustable. It only provided minimum facilities and the food was not satisfactory

Had a good experience in three year life at rajagiri.

College Infrastructure

Rajagiri college is situating in Ernakulam . It is the only college in kerala running on Solar energy.. It is an eco friendly college. It provides all the facilities to the students. The facilities are library, computer lab, seperate GYM for both boys and girls, basket ball court, psychology lab, Amigos for the Birthday celebrations, cafeterias, mediacal room for the emergencies, college bus for travelling. College is also prividing facility for the students to do the vegetable gardening.
