12 MonthsThe Department of Library and Information Science at Rajagiri College of Social Sciences has introduced a One-year Master's Degree Lateral Entry Programme in Library Science. This programme is designed to offer students who have already obtained a One-Year B.Lib.I.Sc Degree from different institutions or universities the chance to pursue a Master's degree in the field of Library and Information Science. The programme is distinguished by its integration of emerging trends in library education, providing graduates in LIS with the essential information required for their professional advancement in the contemporary era of digitization. The course is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala and is the first integrated programme of its kind. The course admits 30 students each year. Students are admitted to the course based on an entrance test and interview that take place after they register their application through the college website
Candidates seeking admission to M.Lib.I.Sc. Lateral entry degree must have passed with 50% marks BLISc / B.Lib.I.Sc. Or equivalent degree examination with 50% marks recognized by the MG University. (Relaxation in Marks in the Qualifying Examination is based on MG University rules).
Admission to the programme is based on the marks obtained in the Entrance examination conducted by the college. The duration of the Entrance examination shall be one hour for 50 marks
