Ratnapuri Technological Institute College of Polytechnic Medak is one among the top technical institutions providing diploma courses in different branches of engineering. The Institute operates on a very simple merit-based admission procedure. RITCOP is recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and provides a good environment for students pursuing technical education.

Admission into RITCOP is through TS POLYCET. This examination is known as the Telangana State-Polytechnic Common Entrance Test, conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana, for admission into all diploma programs offered in the institute. TS POLYCET is conducted generally every year; fixing dates at this stage is a little tough.

For admission in the institute, it is necessary that candidates clear 10+2 or equivalent. Different eligibility criteria apply for each of the diploma qualifications. The institute has a total intake of 662 students across various diploma programs, ensuring a good student-to-faculty ratio with 47 faculty members.

Application Process

The admission process to RITCOP consists of the following stages:

1. Register for TS POLYCET: Interested candidates must first register for TS POLYCET through the official website of the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Telangana.

2. Entrance Exam: Attend TS POLYCET on the appointed date. The examination generally comprises subjects such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

3. Declaration of Results: Following the completion of the examination, results will be announced on the official TS POLYCET site, where candidates will be able to see their results and ranking.

4. Counseling Registration: The successful candidates should register for the counseling procedure, which involves a nominal fee for counseling and the indication of the course and college of choice.

5. Verification of Documents: The candidates must keep their documents ready for verification. The documents expected to be submitted include:

• TS POLYCET rank card
• 10th class marks memo
• Transfer certificate
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• Income certificate (if applicable)
• Any other eligible certificates as mentioned by the authorities

6. Allotment of Seats: Allotment shall be made on the basis of the ranks, preferences, and availability of seats.

7. Payment of Fees: Candidates shall pay the requisite amount of fees as per the seat allotted to them in RITCOP, thus confirming their provisional admission.

8. Reporting to the Institute: After completing all of the above-mentioned procedures, students must report to RITCOP on the specified date along with all original documents to complete the final admission procedure.

Degree-wise Admission Process

Diploma Programs: RITCOP is offering seven AICTE-approved full-time diploma programs. The admissions to all of these programs are through the TS POLYCET examination, which is the same for all programs. The distribution of programs with the respective intakes is as follows:

1. Diploma in Civil Engineering: 60 seats
2. Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering: 60 seats
3. Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering: 60 seats
4. Diploma in Mechanical Engineering: 60 seats
5. Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering: 60 seats
6. Diploma in Agricultural Engineering: 30 seats
7. Diploma in Agricultural Technology: 30 seats

For all diploma programs mentioned above, candidates should qualify TS POLYCET. The assignment of seats will be made based on the merit list prepared based on the entrance test scores. Candidates must attend counseling sessions for seat allocation.
