About RVS College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore
RVS College of Engineering and Technology (RVS-CET), Coimbatore was started in 2007 is one of the Private self financing college in Tamil Nadu. Located in a 200 acre campus, RVSCET provides plenty of courses in engineering at UG and PG levels. This college is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai having total student capacity of 877 and total faculty strength of 77. Of its 11 courses, it offers 6 in B.Tech and the other 5 in M.Tech across its two degree programmes, with a focus on the subjects like Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering. The programme attained its recognition from All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and lays emphasis on quality technical education.
RVS College of Engineering and Technology has many state-of-the art facilities to help the students learn effectively with a lot of ease. Accommodation is also well provided in the campus for both boys and girls with well equipped hostels to enhance better accommodation. A computerised over 11,000 sq. ft, which houses 300 students is the major library that supports students and academics in their researching and studying needs. It also offers enhanced IT tools such as high-speed internet connection and enhanced computer labs in line with the colleges’ computer requirements for delivery of instruction. In a physical fitness perspective, RVSCET provides a functional Gym facility and various sports facilities. Facilities include an ICICI Bank ATM, a large canteen, and an efficient transport facility for fifty two different routes using twenty buses to ferry eight hundred students from Sulur, Coimbatore, Tirupur and Palakkad.
The RVSCET offers varied courses in academics and in total there are 18 courses offered by the college including undergraduate and postgraduate both. The college has 7 full time B.E./B.Tech programmes and 4 M.E/M.Tech programmes to its students. The overall approved intake capacity for all the courses combined is 419 seats. Some of the popular undergraduate programmes are B.E. in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering with an intake of 60 in each of the stream.
The admission procedure taking into consideration this institute is mostly focused on entrance tests. The admission test for B.E/B.Tech programme is called as Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) and the students who wants to join in these course have to attend the counselling sessions. The TNEA 2024 general counselling dates are from July 29, 2024 to September 3, 2024 and B.Tech counselling will end on September 11, 2024. M.E./M.Tech programmes requires valid CEETA-PG scores of Common Engineering Entrance Test.

As per the information available in their official site, there is no specific course of B.E. in mechatronics but has B.E in mechanical engineering. You will get to learn about mechatronics as a part of mechanical engineering.
Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering is a four-year full-time undergraduate program offered under the Anna University, Chennai.
A candidate with a pass in the HSC (Academic) or its equivalent with a minimum average percentage in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry is eligible.
For General Category, an average percentage of 50% is required and for other categories, a minimum 45% is required. The selection is done on the basis of TNEA counselling.
The I Year curriculum will include subjects which are roots of the engineering through both theory and practicals like:
