ITM University Gwalior hereby known as a School of Law is a constituent college in the field of Law since it’s formation in the year 2003. It is a co-education university situated in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh with a total area of 125 acres of land. BCI approved, this school is fitting the different needs of the legal profession with its law programmes. Due to its concern for quality, the School of Law has emerged as a leading institution for legal education in the country, which offers eight courses across five programmes of study such as BA LLB (Hons), B. Com LLB (Hons) and LLB.
ITM University, this one has a rich list of facilities that can facilitate the learning process of students. The library being one of the major resources for teaching and learning law is completely computerised with strengths of thousand and one hundred thousand plus volumes of books, periodicals and journals on different facet of the law and related disciplines. Students interested in litigation are offered the Moot Court facility by the school, which can easily give the students live exposure to the courtroom. In addition, the campus has modern IT facilities equipped to avail the best modern technologies linked to IT solutions for the students. Sports activities are promoted through a fitness centre together with other sporting equipment.
The Law School provides a complete range of Legal programmes, and all are only full-time programmes. The institute provides three 5-year integrated programmes. They include; BA LLB (Hons) – 120, B.Com LLB (Hons) – 120, and BBA LLB (Hons) – 120. For those who want to pursue the regular law course the three years LLB course is offered with 120 seats. Moreover, the school currently provides some specific postgraduate programmes such as LLM in Criminal Law as well as LLM in Constitutional Law as one year course.

The School of Law, ITM University Gwalior, is a prestigious constituent college offering a range of law programs to aspiring legal professionals. The admission process at the School of Law is designed to select the most qualified candidates for its various undergraduate and postgraduate law programs. The primary mode of admission for all law programs at ITM University Gwalior is through the ITM-NEST (ITM National Entrance and Scholarship Test) entrance exam conducted by the institute.
The ITM-NEST is a multiple-choice entrance test that is designed to assess the candidate's aptitude and relevant knowledge toward legal studies. This is a compulsory entrance examination for all law programs offered at the institute: both integrated five-year programs as well as the traditional three-year LLB. The subjects include legal aptitude, logical reasoning, general knowledge, and English language proficiency.
For undergraduate courses like BA LLB (Hons), B.Com LLB (Hons), BBA LLB (Hons), and LLB, candidates should have completed their 10+2 from a recognized board. For postgraduate courses like LLM in Criminal Law and LLM in Constitutional Law, candidates have to appear for the ITM-NEST. Application Procedure
Following steps are involved to apply for admission to the School of Law, ITM University Gwalior,
1. Application Procedure for ITM-NEST: It requires the online submission of application at the official website of ITM University for the registration for the ITM-NEST exam with payment of required application fee.
2. ITM-NEST Entrance Test: The aspirants have to attend the entrance exam on a designated date of exam. These usually test on all the aforesaid elements, like legal aptitude, logical reasoning, general knowledge, and knowledge of English.
3. Declaration of Result: After the exam, the ITM University declares the results of ITM-NEST. Eligible candidates will be given a chance to move forward with the selection procedure.
4. Counselling Procedure: Certain candidates might also be called for counselling. This includes document verification and seat allotment based on merit and preference.
5. Documents Required: There are numerous documents that have to be submitted during the time of admission. These include mostly all documents as mentioned in the above procedures.
6. Fee Payment: Once seat is allotted and documents are verified, candidates are required to pay the needed admission fee in order to reserve their seat.
7. Final Admission: On completion of the above procedures, candidates will get their final admission letter from School of Law, ITM University Gwalior.
Degree wise Admission Process
BA LLB (Hons): This course provides 120 seats. Entry is designed on the basis of merit through the ITM-NEST entrance exam. Candidates must have completed 10+2 and should possess qualifying marks as mentioned by the university.
B.Com LLB (Hons): This is another five-year integrated program with 120 seats. Admission is the same as for BA LLB (Hons), and candidates must clear the ITM-NEST exam. This is ideal for students interested in combining legal studies with commerce.
BBA LLB (Hons): The admission process is similar to the other five-year courses, and it is based on the performance in ITM-NEST. The number of seats available for this course are not specified.
LLB: The three-year traditional LLB course has 120 seats. The admission is based on the ITM-NEST exam. Candidates must have passed any bachelor's degree from a recognized university. They are eligible to seek this course.
LLM Criminal Law: This is a postgraduate one-year course. There is the ITM-NEST entrance test, and the candidates who clear it will be chosen. The candidates must be an LLB or equivalent degree pass holder.
The LLM in Constitutional Law is also of one-year duration. Here, too, candidates have to clear the ITM-NEST exam to get admitted. A bachelor's degree in law is eligible for this course.
