School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTUK) was founded in the year 2008. Operating from the campus of Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, this pharmacy education college is an affiliate institute. AICTE as well as PCI have approved the institute so that there is a high order of education. Through the Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses, specialisations offered in B.Pharma and M.Pharma comprise Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, and Pharmacology. The capacity intake for B.Pharma is 60 seats. The total seats for M.Pharma are 105 as each programme is of 15 seats. All programmes are designed to provide a sound background in pharmaceutical sciences that will qualify the graduate for careers in the pharmaceutical industry, research, and academia.

The admissions to the B.Pharma programme would be made through the Convener, EAMCET, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Applications from such students would be entertained only when they qualify in the EAMCET examination. In the case of post graduate programmes, admissions would be handled by the Convener, PGECET, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada (JNTUK) has a competitive and comprehensive admission process in place for its pharmacy courses, this PCI and AICTE approved institute is dedicated to pharmaceutical research and quality education. The admission process is in place to enroll top candidates for pharmacy undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
For the undergraduate courses, the institute takes the scores of the Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET). Only those candidates who pass in the EAMCET exam are eligible to join the B.Pharma course. The admissions for the postgraduation are done through the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP PGECET) for GPAT as well as PGECET qualified students.
Application Process
Application for admission to the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies, JNTUK, differs for undergraduate and postgraduate courses:
For B.Pharma:
1. Attend the AP EAMCET examination organized by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).
2. Pass in the AP EAMCET with a suitable score.
3. Apply for the AP EAMCET counseling procedure as and when announced.
4. Select the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies, JNTUK, as one of your options during the counseling procedure.
5. If provided with a seat, proceed to the institute for document verification and admission procedure.
For M.Pharma:
1. Attend either GPAT (organized at national level) or AP PGECET (organized by Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education).
2. Get qualified in the respective entrance exam with a valid score.
3. Get registered in the AP PGECET counseling process when notified.
4. Get your desired M.Pharma specialization (Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, or Pharmacology) at the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies, JNTUK, during the counseling process.
5. In case of being given a seat, physically attend the institute for document checking and admission formalities.
Degree wise Admission Process
B.Pharma: The B.Pharma course at JNTUK School of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies has an intake capacity of 60 seats. The candidate is admitted to the four-year undergraduate course on the basis of his/her performance in the AP EAMCET examination. Candidates eligible for admission have to complete their 10+2 studies in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology as subjects.
M.Pharma: The three specializations in M.Pharma at the institute are Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutics, and Pharmacology. Each of these specializations has 15 seats available, for a total of 45 seats in the M.Pharma courses. Admission to these two-year postgraduate courses is done through the AP PGECET counseling. The candidate should be holding a B.Pharma degree from a recognized university and must have passed either GPAT or PGECET to be eligible.
The admission process for both B.Pharma and M.Pharma courses is merit-based, taking into consideration the performance of the candidates in the specific entrance examinations. The candidates have to undergo the counseling process by the respective authorities (EAMCET for B.Pharma and PGECET for M.Pharma) in order to get admitted.
