Shimla College of Education, Shimla Admission 2025: Dates, Registration, Fees, Eligibility

Shimla College of Education, Shimla (SCE) initiated its activities to meet the growing demand of quality teachers in the future. The college runs different undergraduate/postgraduate programs in education and has a complete admission process, fully compliant with the policies of the State Government, Central Government, and University Administration.
 Eligibility criteria are dependent on programs for admission into SCE. 

Candidates need to complete their qualifying examination from boards or universities recognized as per the standards. Also, candidates of B.Ed and M.Ed degree programs may have to appear for the entrance examination, following the directives of governing bodies in this regard.  SCE accepts entrance tests into different programs. Therefore, candidates should prepare for such tests using the syllabus and previous years' question papers for orientation.

Application Process 

Applications to Shimla College of Education, Shimla will be as easy as possible and simple for eligible candidates. Here is the process of application in stepwise manner.

1. Browse the official website of Shimla College of Education to find the application form and admission-related details.

2. Download it and fill out the application form carefully, ensuring that no required field is missed and that all details have been completed accurately.

3. Prepare the required documents that need to be enclosed with the application form. Only a few prime documents include:

• Passport size photographs
• Mark sheets through which qualifying examinations were conducted
• Entrance exam score card (if applicable)
• Character certificate from the last attended institution
• Category certificate (if applicable)
• Any other as stipulated by the college

4. They need to be submitted at the college admission office with a completed application form before the last date specified.

5. Payment of the application fee as charged by the college. These details relating to the fee amount and its payment will be stated in the application form or the college website. 

6. Shortlisted candidates may have to undergo yet another selection stage through interviews or counseling sessions.

7. Final selection rests largely on the overall performance on the part of the candidate in informing the qualifying examination, entrance test-exempt if, and other selection criteria established by the college.

8. Selected candidates will be updated on the college website or by email/phone and must complete admission formalities, including the verification of documents and fee payment, within the stipulated time to secure their seats.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.Ed: SCE has an intake for B.Ed of 100 students. Admission to the B.Ed program will be based on merit based on marks obtained for qualifying examination and entrance examination. It may also include other criteria as per the policy of the State Government, Central Government, or University Administration.

M.Ed: Approved in-take for SCE in the M.Ed program is 50 students. M.Ed admission is also very much similar to that of the B.Ed program. It will be merit-based for the qualifying examination and the entrance examination. Extra selection criteria would be included as per the guidelines set by the relevant governing bodies.

D.El.Ed: The Diploma in Elementary Education program has an approved in-take of 100 students. Admission into the D.El.Ed program will be entirely based on merit marks secured in the qualifying examination. The college may also conduct an entrance examination or use other selection methods as per the policies of the state government or UT administration.
