The admission process in Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi Government Ayurved College is by a merit list, entrance examination process. Candidates have to qualify for the BAMS course in the National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET). MD and MS courses at the postgraduate level are offered in accordance with the All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test. Named after a notable Ayurvedic practitioner, Shri Narayan Prasad Awasthi Government Ayurved College in Raipur provides Ayurvedic education of the highest standard in the state of Chhattisgarh. It has established criteria for admissions through a merit-based national entrance examination, making this very competitive. Undergraduate admissions for this college are based on NEET results. The NEET exam is usually held sometime in May-June, and results are declared in July. Only those candidates who qualify NEET are invited to participate in the counseling process for admission to BAMS. The AIAPGET is also held in consideration for admission to Masters's in Ayuveda, MD, MS. The common entrance examination is generally held during July-August, with results released in September.
Following this, the candidates are called for counseling based on their scores in AIAPGET. Degree-wise Admission Process
This Ayurveda college has 75 BAMS seats. Admission to this course is through scores obtained by the candidate in the NEET. The candidates should have completed 10+2 in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as subjects. Admission is by centralized counseling on merit on NEET.
MD in Ayurvedic medicine: Different MD in Ayurveda specializations offered by the college are Medicine (5 seats), Samhita and Basic Principles of Ayurveda (3 seats), Anatomy (3 seats), Pathology and Diagnostic Procedures (6 seats), Materia Medica and Pharmacology (6 seats), Physiology (6 seats), Paediatrics (6 seats), and Social & Preventive Medicine (6 seats), and Toxicology & Forensic Medicine (6 seats). Admission is based on AIAPGET scores. Candidates must be BAMS from a NCISM-recognized college.
MS in Ayurveda: 3 seats are available for MS in Ayurveda for General Surgery, and admission criteria are the same for MD.
Diploma Programs: For the Diploma in Panchakarma Sahayaka and Diploma in Pharmacist Ayurveda (30 seats each), candidates are admitted based on HSE marks. Candidates must have cleared HSE with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects under the Chhattisgarh Government.
