The college buildings look old-fashioned so it needs to be renovated otherwise the infrastructure of college is good. The college have two cafeteria for students. Hostel facilities, canteen, gym, playground and garden all are there.
I studied BSc physics, and the quality of teaching is great. The teachers are very knowledgeable. The curriculum gets updated as per Pune University. Recently the college has become autonomous which surely make students Ready for job.
There isn't much placement provided by the institution, which is why the fees has been kept low. In Bsc there is no placement provided as fas as i know. Internships are there mostly for other courses.
The college fees was around 12K and for some, it was lower than that. With that amount of money you are paying facilities provided are good enough. So, i think it's worth it. If you choose to live outside it might cost you double though.
Due to COVID i couldn't have much fun but after COVID i had a great time there. The college conducts many fests and Co-curricular activities where students can engage themselves. The faculty is very friendly and supportive. The college is located in main city, and is safe for all. It can handle emergencies too.
The crowd is mostly filled with Marathi speaking people so, if you know Marathi then it would be helpful for you to interact with anyone easily.
The college was established in 1916 so accordingly most of the infrastructure is not up to the mark. Most of the washrooms are not clean and maintained. But we do have other infrastructure like canteen, playground, swimming pool, gym, Auditorium which are very well maintained and well equipped laboratories are there, good IT infrastructure is there.
All of the faculties are experts in their respective subjects. The way they teach their assigned subjects is everything the student needs to make progress in life. The curriculum does include some new developments But some have to be updated in real time.
I am a commerce student so I am not aware about the placements. But I have noticed some top MNC's had come to visit and recruit some of the Computer Science students in the college. As I was going to pursue the masters degree I was not interested about placements. But I know there are placements for commerce students as well.
The per year cost of B.com course is 18295.the money is totally worth given the campus has all the things that most colleges rarely have.
S.P.college has a really good infrastructure. All the necessary facilities like canteen, playground, swimming pool, library, gymnasium ,ladies garden ,etc are well maintained and equiped. Hostel facility is also available inside the campus. The food available at canteen is hygienic. They manage to keep all the wide campus area clean and safe for students.
I am studying in Bsc(comp.sci) and I am so lucky to have such qualified and well experienced teachers. They are dedicated at teaching and all aware about recent researches and trends in their respective fields. The curriculum is updated and teachers are aware and concious about the future of students.
I am still studying so not having a personal experience of placements. But well known companies like Infosys,Wipro,Tcs comes in our college to hire computer Science graduates and post graduates. I am sure there are placements available for commerce students as well.
Since the commerce, plain science and art departments are government aided, they have much less fees, around Rs.2000-3000 per year. Computer science department is unaided so we have fees ranges in between Rs.30,000-35,000, which I think is reasonable for lab and teaching facilities compared to other colleges..
Campus life in S.P.College is full of joy and enthusiasm. There are various festivals celebration takes place every year. Apart for annual gathering and cultural celebrations (eg.Shivpalkhi), there are festivals dedicated to each department (eg.Maven) to encourage students to explore their fields.
