Sishu Bikash College of Education, which is recognized as a renowned teacher training college situated in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. The college has two firsthand courses: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), which are honored by the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). Admission into SBCED opened the doors to merit-based admission for the selection of the most qualified candidates for their programs. However, according to the various policies from time to time by the state government, selection under D.El.Ed may include consideration of entrance tests.

Degree wise Admission Procedure

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed program offered at Sishu Bikash College of Education is a two-year full-time course that trains students to develop as graduates who are able to take up direct employment as teachers in secondary and higher secondary institutions. The admission process for B.Ed is merit-based, depending upon the performance of the candidate in his or her qualifying examinations. The college has also received an intake approval for 100 candidates for this study program. In general, the eligibility criteria require a student to hold a bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university.

D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education): The D.El.Ed program is also a two-year full-time course run by the college. Such merit-based entry into D.El.Ed takes account of marks obtained in a qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The approved intake for D.El.Ed is 50 students. Specified eligibility criteria and selection processes may be subject to the policies set by the state government or UT administration.
