St. Mary’s College Malappuram was started in 1996 as the affiliated college in Perinthalmanna, Kerala. Located on a 10 acre land, this university provides variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Currently, the college enrolment is 1,342 students, and the college has 72 members of faculty. The college provides 16 courses in 7 different degrees in many streams from Arts, Science, Commerce to Management respectively.

St. Mary’s College include a rich provision of facilities that cater for students’ needs both academic and personal. The library also provides accommodation for over ten thousand books, subscribed journal, magazines and newspapers in an Automated Library System with an online public access catalogue. Sports lovers can do one or more things like football, cricket, basketball, and athletics among others. In this college there is two computer lab, has sixty and five system are useful for academic purposes and seven computer system is available for browsing purpose. Other amenities are a cafeteria, a hall which can accommodate about one thousand students, four seminar rooms, physics, psychology, and chemistry laboratories. A health centre with Articles of Fists Aid is also provided in the campus for the students and the staff.

Fifteen under graduate programmes and one post graduate programmes are offered in St. Mary’s College in all, totaling to 16 programmes. The undergraduate programmes include: BA-English, Economics, History, and Political Science; B.Sc-Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Chemistry; B.Com- Computer Applications, Finance, Cooperation; BBA; BCA. MA in English and Economics is offered at post graduate level and at the M.Com level the college offers M.Com in Finance. All courses are full-time and regular courses. The total approved intake of the courses is from 36 to 68 depending on the programme of study.

St. Mary’s College being an affiliate of the University of Calicut follows the CAP system of the University as far as admission is concerned. Regardless of the quota whether it is the Management quota, General Merit, Reservation, Sports, or Persons with disability, all newcomers must use this system to register for both an undergraduate degree course as well as postgraduate programmes. This college also follows the admission processes as follows the university set standards on admittance. However, general examination date schedules are not given, still the student has to be in-touch with the University of Calicut for the exact dates for the exams. Carmel Bhavan, a girls’ hostel by CMC sisters is available which has bath attached rooms, homely food with Wi-Fi.
