Surat Pandey Degree College, located in Garhwa, Jharkhand, was started in 1983 as an affiliated college. Located by NH-75 in Chetna, Garhwa, this institution is stretched over the size of the 5.09 square acres. The college is also NAAC accredited which clearly shows the concern of college for the quality education in its premises. With the total 3843 students enroled & 32 faculties, Surat Pandey Degree College is providing 20 courses under four degree programmes majored in Arts and Sciences with limited options in computer applications and business administration.

In the Arts stream, the general Bachelor of Arts degree is offered, alongside honours courses in Economics, English Geography, History, Mathematics, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sanskrit, Sociology, Urdu and Hindi. Under science stream, students are able to take up general B.Sc or pursue honours degree in Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Maths/Statistics, Botany and Zoology.
