The admission process at UCEN is to identify the most worthy candidates. Admissions to the B.Tech programmes are mainly done on the basis of an AP EAMCET. AP EAMCET evaluates the aptitude of the candidates in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Admissions for the M.Tech programmes are made based on scores of either Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or the Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET) administered by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). Such rigorous procedures of screening ensure that the UCEN admits students who have a fundamental base in core subjects and a great potential in the fields of engineering they choose.

JNTUK University College of Engineering Narasaraopet (UCEN) is a premier institution with undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs. Admission is based on merit with disciplined scrutiny to find the brightest and most deserving candidates for admission to its various programs. For undergraduate admissions, UCEN primarily considers the ranks in the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) for admission into its various courses. This examination tests the candidates' aptitude in the main engineering subjects of mathematics, physics, and chemistry, thereby ensuring that the student being admitted are already well-grounded in core subjects necessary for purposes of engineering studies.
For postgraduate admissions, UCEN will consider the scores earned in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), as well as the Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET), given by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). This duality of pathways ensures that the college admits students with demonstrated track record power of sound academic achievement in their selected fields of engineering. Usually, this is within an annual calendar cycle, which generally starts in August and September. Students are advised to inquire from the official website of UCEN or the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) about the specific dates applicable to application submission, entrance examinations, and result announcements.
