University Institute of Computer Science and Applications (UICSA) is an affiliated with Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya University and situated in Jabalpur city of Madhya Pradesh State, India. This institute was started in 1993 to award Postgraduate degrees and diplomas in computer science for almost three decades now. It is recognised by AICTE, the statutory body of the Government of India for technical education. The offered degree programmes are undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree, Master of Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy and two unique programmes of Computer Application Technology and Computer System Technology. The faculty of UICSA is comprised of only two members. Therefore, the college gives due importance to quality education in the area of Information Technology that is progressively expanding.
UICSA has several facilities that supports learning outcomes of students. The institute has a well stocked library with about 3000 books on various IT fields old trends, new trends, computing mathematics and IT management. The IT facilities are also very Wiki, include air-conditioned computer laboratories equipped with modern technology. Students are blessed with fifty solutions – Pentium IV HP-Compaq computers with 3.1 GHz H.T. technology, all networked through LAN to the latest multiple OS platforms. The institute has internet connection 24-hours which allows students in their web browsing, emailing, and research. Besides academic facilities, UICSA also provide basic nutritious meals, sports equipments,and separate hostels for boys and girls and the girls hostel is the biggest in the Mahakaushal region.
UICSA provides a complete set of six courses of which all are full-time course schemes. Such programmes include three undergraduate programmes, two postgraduate programmes as well as a doctoral programme. The BCA course is a three years course with an intake capacity of forty students. At postgraduate level the institute offer two years Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and two years M.Sc Cyber Security with capacity of forty and twenty students respectively. For the students who want to do the short-term courses more specifically, the UICSA offers the one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA), and Postgraduate Diploma in Cyber Forensic and Information Security .It also has a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Applications for the intending researcher or academia.
