VPR Institute of Elementary Teacher Education is a self-financed institution that was established in 2005 and is located in Kamalapuram, Andhra Pradesh. This is a co-educational college authorised by the National Council for Teacher Education, having a primary focus on teacher education. Located on a plot of 1 acre of land, the institute has only two full-time courses with 51 intakes in total. The faculty strength of VPR Institute is twenty, therefore maintaining a healthy student-teacher ratio in order to provide special attention to each person with the dream of being a teacher.
Many facilities have been established to support the learning needs of all students in the institute. At the centre of these amenities is a fully stocked library with more than 3,500 books, electronic CDs, and A.V. tapes in different fields of education. About twenty five journals and five daily newspapers are subscribed to to give students easy access to the current literature on education. For physical development, the institute provides sports grounds and a gymnasium. A building for conducting lectures, meetings, etc. is also available on campus; also, there is a facility of a canteen and health centre that has first aid facilities. For the support of academic curriculum, the institute runs subject-based laboratories and has its own IT infrastructure to prepare students for modern techniques of academic delivery.
VPR Institute of Elementary Teacher Education provides two basic programmes in the area of education. They are both day programmes aimed at producing qualified teachers to teach in our schools and colleges. These programmes are for students who want to qualify as teachers for the elementary school and the secondary school, respectively.

Admission for students in the VPR Institute of Elementary Teacher Education is strictly based on merit, following guidelines set by the government of Andhra Pradesh and the university in which the institute is located. VPR Institute of Elementary Teacher Education, Kamalapuram, is a self-financing institute situated in the Andhra Pradesh region of India. The Institute for teacher education has been permitted by the National Council for Teacher Education, NCTE. Admission to this Institute is on a merit basis following the policies laid down by the Government of Andhra Pradesh as well as that of the affiliate university. For eligibility, candidates must have passed their qualifying examination according to the requirement of the particular program for which they are applying.
The institute offers two major programs: D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education) and B.Ed (Bachelor of Education). The selection procedure in both programs is on the marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or performance in the entrance examination as per the state government and the university's policy. Application Procedure
The process of applying for the VPR Institute of Elementary Teacher Education, Kamalapuram is as under:

B.Ed (Bachelor of Education): The B.Ed program has 100 seats available in it, and the selection process is almost alike to that of the D.El.Ed program. It is on the basis of merits of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. Any other selection process as per the policy of the state government, UT administration, and the university may be considered for this program. This course can be taken up by those people who are interested in becoming secondary school teachers.
