Candidates need to submit their assignments on time, which are assigned to them every week. Hence, for a 4-week course, there will be 4-assignments, for an 8-week course, 8 assignments need to be submitted, and 12 assignments for a 12-week programme.
For the assignment marks calculation, NPTEL does not consider all the assignments. For a 4-week NPTEL course, the best of three out of four assignments will be considered. For 8-week courses, the best of six assignments will be considered out of eight assignments. For the NPTEL final exam, only eight assignments will be considered out of 12 in the 12-week course.
The syllabus of the NPTEL exam varies according to the enrolled course. Candidates will be assessed in the NPTEL certificate based on their course only.
