The Environmental Remediation of Contaminated Sites online course is an environmental engineering programme, developed by IIT Roorkee and University of Rhode Island. Aspirants with a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Sciences can take up this curriculum. Assistant professor Bhanu Prakash Vellanki from IIT Roorkee along with Prof. Thomas Boving from University of Rhode Island will instructs the course, through numerous interactive learning sessions and written assignments.

The Environmental Remediation of Contaminated Sites certification syllabus splits into four learning modules. It further divides into subtopics covered over 12 weeks. These include remediation processes, law, regulations, groundwater, solidification, and more. A prior understanding of biology, chemistry, and physics is crucial to enroll in this training. Moreover, the course supports industrial learning through Degremont, Nalco Water, Thermax, and Veolia Water, and other companies.

The Environmental Remediation of Contaminated Sites certification is an AICTE approved FDP (Faculty Development Programme). Students can also avail of a certificate if they opt for it.
