Job opportunities:-
Hii,
Many universities and colleges offer part-time or distance B.Tech programs especially for diploma holders. This is often called a Lateral Entry program, where you can join directly in the second year of B.Tech, so the course duration will be around 3 years instead of 4.
Since you passed out a long time ago, some colleges might ask for a few extra documents or conduct a small test or interview, but that depends on the institute.
You should look for AICTE-approved colleges or universities that offer part-time B.Tech for working professionals or diploma holders. Some popular options include IGNOU, KSOU, or state technical universities.
Also, make sure the course is approved and valid for future jobs or promotions.

Hello,
Absolutely, I’d be glad to help! Since you're a first-year diploma student and your goal is to join an IIT through JEE , it's important to understand the path clearly.
Unfortunately, diploma holders are not eligible for admission into IITs via JEE Advanced directly.
IITs only allow students who have completed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics .
A diploma is not considered equivalent to 12th for JEE Advanced eligibility.
So, you cannot join IIT through the diploma-to-IIT direct route .
You can register for Class 12 from a recognized board (like NIOS or state board) with PCM subjects .
Once you pass 12th with PCM, you become eligible to:
Appear for JEE Main and then JEE Advanced .
Apply for IITs like any other 12th student.
This is the most reliable route for a diploma student aiming for IIT.
If you want to continue with your diploma:
You can go for LEET exams (Lateral Entry Entrance Tests).
Through this, you can directly join 2nd year B.Tech in many state universities or NITs , but not in IITs .
Some colleges even have good placements and academics similar to IITs.
