as per the information, last year some departments in Banaras Hindu University had an intake of candidates who ranked even a little beyond 500 but they were of course called after the first and second round of counselling. 499 is a very far away rank in unreserved General category and 149 is comparatively a better rank for female colleges under BHU. You can wait till this month for your call letter from BHU but I suggest you to look for other colleges as well in the mean time.

EWS quota has 10% reservation and with a rank of 09 in that category it seems like you have a very sure chance of getting admission in BHU with Masters in Plant Biotechnology. A general rank of 80 and EWS category rank of 09 should get you admission in the main campus of Banaras Hindu University itself and that too in the very first round of counselling. Congratulations on such a good rank!

Hi, unfortunately, determining cut offs/rank is quite a difficult process they change every year depending on no. of seats avaialble, no. of applicants seeking admission and appearing for the entrance exam, difficulty level on the entrance paper and the subsequent result. So if you have scored marks around 200 then you'll easily get admission to the course in the main campus.

With a rank of 118 in general category and 75 in the general women category, I'm sure you have a very strong chance of getting in BHU. there are 77 seats for Master of Science in Chemistry in Banaras Hindu University. You have a very good rank compared to the number of seats and the general cut off of the ranks. There is a good chance for you to get admission in the main campus of BHU only with the subject of your choice. If not the main campus you will surely get good colleges.

According to last year cut off of BHU PET programm , you have very less chance to get admission in main campus , but you must  be wait for 2nd or 3rd round counciling . But the chance of admission is very less .  You can apply for some other university like DU and state university for M.A. political science.
