I took PCMB in 10+2 and I got 78 in physics 64 in chemistry 87 in biology and I failed in maths am I eligible for ICAR(BSC AGRICULTURE)

Shivangi Student Expert 31st May, 2019

Dear Aryan

This year ICAR examination will be conducted by NTA and its is clearly mentioned in NTA’s official website that “Candidate having a compartment/ supplementary in any of the subjects will not be eligible unless proof of having cleared the examination with requisite percentage that is more than 50% marks in aggregate for General, OBC (NCL), UPS, EWS categories and 40% marks in aggregate for SC, ST, Transgender, PwD categories”.

So, concluding the statement if you have had appeared for compartment/ supplementary of maths subject and passed it and have proof of being passed in it, then you are eligible.

Just make sure of the below mentioned points:-

1. Subjects which the candidate must have passed in 10+2 Exam- PCB/PCMB/ PCM/InterAgriculture    2. Subjects to be attempted in the Entrance Examination - PCB/PCM/PCA/ABC

HELLO!! I am 1st year Bsc. zoology student. I want to know if I am eligible for Biotechnology in IIT-JAM or eligible only for BIOLOGICAL SC.

Karvannan sevugamurthi 31st May, 2019

Hi Fatima

Yes, You are eligible for both Biotechnology and Biological science test papers of IIT-JAM exam. IITs require their unique eligibility criteria for their admission. Based on that, any biology courses like Zoology, Biotechnology are eligible for applying JAM exam. But Degree holders and final year students can only write this exam, so prepare well from now and get your seat in IIT.

All the best.

I GOT Physics 38 chemistry 37 maths 38 IN HSC 2019 THEN I AM ELIGIBLE FOR ENGINEERING ADMISSION PROCESS

Faith Slacer P 31st May, 2019

Hello Meldi,

Yes you can apply for engineering process. But the problem is your tnea cutoff will be very low so you should not get admission through counselling. So they should not call you for counselling. Better you can get admission through management quota if you really want to study engineering.

Good luck!

If any candidate passed in physics, chemistry , biology by good marks and got compartment in maths is he eligible for medical courses?

Lakshay Katyal 31st May, 2019

Hi Harshit,

According to the norms of the NTA, the eligibility criteria for NEET is:

  • Qualifying Marks: UR - 50%, OBC/SC/ST - 40%, PWD - 45% (minimum aggregate marks only for PCB subjects)

So accordingly, if you have cleared this cutoff for Physics, Chemistry and Biology, and even if you got compartment in Maths, then it won't be a problem for you in order to take admission in medical courses.

Feel free to ask any queries here.

Good luck!
