do I have to give boards exam again if i took 1 year gap after class 12 for Cet preparation

Yastika Kumar 12th Mar, 2020

Hi Abhi,

No there is no need to appear again for boards your scores are still valid. Only if feel need to appear for improvement exam you can appear for it provided that in this gap you haven't pursued higher studies.

I got 74% in 10th, 66% in 12 th & 78% in grad(2017) &also have 1 yr work ex but I took 1 yr gap(from dec 2018 to till now feb (2020)for CAT preparation but didnt score well.I have decide to take CAT2020 with job.Does this affect decision affect my career and mba admission in top b school?

harshitasharansrivastava Student Expert 1st Feb, 2020
Hello Aspirant,
I'll like to tell you that on analysing your marks and past work experience, i can say that your academics are on an average scale.. Since you had 1 year of work ex that'll help you further. But I'll recommend you not to have any further gap.. And Start preparation along with job.. If you get a good percentile you'll surely not face any difficulties in getting into top bschool of your choice if you are able to effectively justify your gap year. So for now you  should focus on your preparation and not think much.
All the best

I have completed my graduation in 2017 and I do have a 1-year experience . In Dec 2018, I left the job for the preparation of Cat 2019 but I didnt score well. Now, I have decide to go for job and will give CAT2020. Does this decision affect my career ,MBA admission and placement?

Sharon Rose Student Expert 1st Feb, 2020

Hello,

No, gap in your career might not be a hindrance to your career when you qualify CAT and join in a college.Your academic performance, work experience, CAT score, performance in interview and group discussion are considered during  admission process. At the time of placements your academic performance in PG, skills that you have, your knowledge, aptitude are considered.Other than this you may not have any problem. You might be asked about the gap in your career, you can be honest with it if you face such questions during interview.

I want to start my iit jee preparation and I completed my 6th to 10th basic which books I reffer starting, can I use 11th ncert books, I join coaching after three months.

Ankita parida 1st Feb, 2020

Hello dear aspirants,

As you are new to this world of the competitive world a few tips I would like to suggest to you.

Please follow it very firmly.

1.whatever may be the situation is always try to maintain the consistency of reading at least 8 hr per day.

2.Revise your coaching notes after the coaching time & before going to coaching make a quick revision of yesterday notes.& solve as many questions. first, clear your concept then move on to next. never hesitate to ask your doubt.

3. Solve your DPP/Sheet first provided by your coaching.

In physics, you can follow reference book like  HCV once you solve it then only move to IRODOV

In Chemistry always read NCERT first then your coaching notes which is sufficient.

In maths solve DPP/sheet first then you may solve black book.

Give test twice a month after test solve the same paper at home .never get demoralized & never quiet.

Thank you

All the best.

Hello Aspirant,

You can prefer the books to prepare for IPMAT-

IIM Indore IPM Entrance Exam published by Pearson and written by IIM Lucknow Alumnus Nishit Sinha.

Along with this, you should also practice last year papers by setting the same time limit as it's going to happen in the final exam this will help you to prepare a proper strategy to give your maximum in the paper and also you will be able to recognize your strength and weakness.

Good Luck!
