Whats the scope of Chemical Engineering from UICET, CHANDIGARH Is it worth to take it.Pls tell me

vikashkr894_9303636 Student Expert 17th Jul, 2019

If placements is considered I'd say its one of the best in the northern region in terms of Chemical Engineering.

And it is almost 60 years old has established into good value for money.

Big firms like EIL (Engineers India Limited), Reliance Industries Ltd., ExxonMobil, Fluor, Bechtel, UOP Honeywell, Technip, HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd., Jubilant, Vedanta Group, IOL-CP, etc visit the campus.

This year international companies like Moubt Meru have also started coming.

The placements have also increased since last year with 95% students being placed this year compared to last year.

And as an expected majority of them got placed in the core sector.

The avg package for this year was around ₹6.34 lac per annum up from ₹5.87 lac per annum last year.

I have my friends in IIT, NIT and trust me the average package is quite high as compared to the majority of the NITs having chemical engineering. There is various reason for it like it is one of the oldest colleges in the Northern region and its alumni base which is quite strong. For a college whose annual fees is just ₹20k a placement like this is just a bonus along with it being a govt. college. There have been cases where students leave NITs and Thapar University to join this college

What is the scope of Msc in biotechnology from IITs? Which are the institutes offering this and their cutt off?

eeshaakula_9673611 Student Expert 16th Jul, 2019

If you like Biology or if you have no resistance towards it, you will love this particular branch. Tremendous opportunities for research activities. There is some exposure towards industrial activities as well.

Regarding placements, you don't have many options if you want to stick to the same field. But, if you would like to go towards non-core jobs (finance, economics, consulting, analytics, management, coding), there are numerous options. For non-core, you are considered equal to any other branch student.

Can someone suggest me the best engineering branch which have good future scope ( with reasons )

Ankur Dubey Student Expert 15th Jul, 2019
Hello

You cannot really tell with full confidence. It takes 4 years to complete B.Tech and that is enough time for changing of trend. The best is to choose a branch in which you are really interested and can give the 4 years of your life with full dedication. Every branch have the potential to give an exceptional career if you work smartly from the beginning with proper strategy and under right guidance.

However, if your preference is for government jobs, Electrical has the widest scope in my opinion, followed by Civil and Mechanical. Computer Science and Electronics dont have that much government jobs. But mark my words, dont neglect your interest otherwise you may end up messing up your career. Go through the syllabus, decide in which subjects you are more comfortable and then choose the branch. Success depends on you not on the branch you choose.

I hope it will help you
Good luck....

My overall rank of tnea is 71430,and i am weak in physics, which course of engineering is fit to me, and they scope in future

srinja.006_9773413 Student Expert 15th Jul, 2019

Hello Surya.

Congratulations on securing this rank.

Well in engineering you will be getting some or the other application of physics at some point so you can't really expect that you won't be dealing with physics at all in this 4 year course. Streams like Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Electronics require the major application of Physics mostly so you should not go for these streams.

You can opt for streams like CSE, Biotech, Chemical, Food technology for a reduced application of Physics. As far as scope is concerned, every stream has scope if not in India then abroad and if you are good in your stream, there will be no end to the amount of scope available. I would suggest you to research about these streams and conclude which one interests you more and which according to you has more scope or will yield better opportunity for you. You will be the best judge as it is you who will be dealing with everything at the end of the day.

Also, you can visit https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/tnea-cutoff to get information regarding the cutoffs of different colleges and branches in the previous years and shortlist the ones where you can get admission with your rank. Having said that, I will also say that the cutoffs vary every year depending on the number of candidates, their rank, the number of seats available, etc.
