Which branch is better electrical or electronics ?which has good future scope and jobs?

rajaman9300 Student Expert 16th Jun, 2019

Hello Tanmaya

You can get various answers of this question but you can have my suggestion too.

ECE and EEE. Mainly there are three reasons for doing engineering and I would be outlining those three cases.

JOB : In this case ECE can be a much better option than EEE. An ECE graduate is welcomed more heartily at the door of the huge IT industry. You get much more exposure to coding being in ECE. Many subjects like basic programming , data structures and algorithms, operating system , computer organisation and architecture are common in the CSE, IT and ECE branches. Many IT companies allow only students with CSE, IT, and ECE degrees to sit in their interviews. Talking about core sector companies , they are quite less in number. However still there are companies like intel which give more preference to ECE graduates. Considering the public sector companies, the ratio of number of vacancies to number of students appearing is less for ECE branch making it a bit difficult for the ECE students in GATE or IES.However considering a summary of overall situation, getting a job for ECE student is easier than for EEE student .

RESEARCH : ECE syllabus and EEE syllabus are about 80%-90% similar to each other. So the research fields have almost same scope for both in the electronics sector. The difference comes when a ECE student has the chances of doing research in the computing field like parallel computing, embedded system technology and these are modern fields of research where most of present day researches are being carried. Therefore again ECE student has better chances.

GRADUATION DEGREE : If someone’s aim while doing engineering is just to get a graduation degree and then pursue his/her career in some other field like management/ civil services or anything else then EEE seems to be a better option. A ECE student has to study much more than a student of EEE branch (forgive me if I am biased being ECE student) and gets less time for preparation of CAT or Civil Services Examination. Even the Syllabus of Civil Services Exam has Electrical Engineering as a optional subject which has topics like power electronics, power systems, energy conversion which are not taught in ECE but are taught in EEE. Therefore in this case EEE seems to be a better option.

saumyash9_6665013 Student Expert 16th Jun, 2019

greetings,

great idea. after the coming of companies act,2013, the scope of CS has increased.

after 12th, it will be better for you to do B.com hons through correspondence and spent maximum time preparing for CS.

if you are delhi based, the coaching centres in laxmi nagar(east delhi) are best for CS coaching.

you are taking coaching for law but it isnt a part of the syllabus of CS. only mercantile law/ business law i.e contracts, companies act. sales of good act. partnership. negotiable instruments etc are a part of the syllabus.

hope this helps.

good luck

Hello,
You have plethora of options after doing B.Sc in Chemistry hons. You can go for a B.ed if you want to become a teacher. Or choose M.Sc in chemistry and do research work later on. For that you need to appear for JRF exams.
You can go for a job in private or government sector too, as per your wish.
For private jobs, you can join pharmaceutical companies, or any other healthcare related companies. There are food corporations which you can join, or you can go for the oil and gas industry. There are so many options in private sector.
If you wish to go for government sector, then you can appear for various exams. But you need to prepare well for that.
Also, you can apply for upsc exam if you wish to go for civil services.
You can do an MBA after completing your B.Sc, that is also very beneficial to get you good packages in the private sector.
So, there are so many options you have. You can choose whichever you find the most suitable for yourself.

Physics honour has more scope or chemistry honours I have equal interest in both

Mythri 15th Jun, 2019
Hey !
As you have mentioned about equal interest in both of them , then the deciding factor must be the job satisfaction and the salary packages available in each of them. Firstly talking about Chemistry honours, it  provides a range of contemporary science based pathways matched to the needs of the higher education, industry, society and to the aspirations of Students. Career opportunities after this are, Forensic chemist, Material Science research, food and flavour chemist, agricultural chemist etc. Coming to physics side,  honours in Physics is a study of matters and its motion through space and time. This course includes all the applicable concepts like energy and force in addition to that also includes the normal bachelors' subjects like mathematics and chemistry. Career opportunities are available both in public and private sector. Researcher, Radiologist etc are some of them. Salary varies from profession to profession. Average salary package after completing Physics honours or chemistry honours is in the same  range . (Not exactly but almost the same in both the cases). Choose the one which can give you job satisfaction.
Hope this helps
