Since you have not mentioned this in the question I am assuming that you are from General Category. With general actegory and your rank it is really diffivcult for you to get one of the top colleges however you may still get some college(though not in aeronautical or aerospace but in CSE or IT in colleges like Dr Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Janatha Education Trust and MCE) . As far as aeronautical engineering is concerned opting for Hindustan university would be the best choice because you can meet people from different cadres ,states and countries also.But I think it will a costly decision for a middle class student.But if your cut off is good and above 185 you can get good colleges affiliated to anna university serving its purpose good.

Meenakshi, in this era girls are leading in every field whether it be technical, non technical, ground work or any other work. If your interested in aeronautical engineering then you must opt that as there are many females working in same industry and some of them are also doing ground work. There are many lady Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) who inspect the aircraft and sign the airworthiness of the aircraft for flight release. And there are many female piolts who are doing great job.

Also, each field of industry is open for females, it just depends on your interest.
