my kcet agriculture practical rank is 2715 and general rank is 90 000 can i get bsc agriculture seet

kumardurgesh1802 24th May, 2025

Hello Darshini,

With a KCET Agriculture Practical Rank of 2715 and a General Rank of 90,000 , your chances of getting a B.Sc. Agriculture seat depend mainly on the following factors:

  1. Admission is based on the Agriculture Practical Rank , not the General Rank, for B.Sc. Agriculture through the agriculture quota.

  2. Seats under agriculture quota are limited, but a practical rank of 2715 is considered moderate. You may have a chance in aided or unaided private colleges and possibly in some government colleges in less competitive regions.

  3. Category reservation (like OBC, SC, ST, etc.) and Hyderabad-Karnataka or other regional quotas can improve your chances.

Conclusion: With a practical rank of 2715, you may get a B.Sc. Agriculture seat , especially in private colleges or in later rounds . Getting a government seat is possible but competitive, so you should apply to a wide range of colleges and keep all options open during counselling.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

i got 43000 in kcet for agriculture nd 6029 in agriculture practical exam will i able to grab the seat

Abhilasha Agrawal 5th Aug, 2025

With a KCET agriculture rank of 43,000 and practical exam rank of 6,029, your chances for a government B.Sc. Agriculture seat in top universities (like UAS Bangalore/Dharwad) are quite slim in early rounds. However, you may still have a chance in private agricultural colleges or affiliated colleges under UHS Bagalkot/UAS Raichur, especially in later rounds.

i didnt attend agri practical exam and board and kcet combined for pcb i get nearly 77 can i get agriculture seat under kcet

kumardurgesh1802 24th May, 2025

Hello there,

If you did not attend the agriculture practical exam, you will not be eligible for the agriculture quota seats under KCET. The agriculture practical exam is mandatory for claiming seats under the agriculture quota .

However, since your KCET score combined with board marks for PCB is around 77, you may still have a chance for general quota agriculture seats, but chances are low because cutoffs for agriculture courses are usually high.

Admission depends on:

  • Category and reservation status

  • Number of applicants

  • Availability of seats in participating colleges

You should still participate in the counseling process and list agriculture courses in lower preference just in case a seat becomes available. Also, consider related courses like horticulture, sericulture, or forestry if you're open to alternatives.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

Which degree is better for PCB student after 12 Bsc agriculture or B pharma

Rajeswari Dey 24th May, 2025

Hi aspirant,

Both B.Sc. Agriculture and B.Pharmacy are outstanding degree options for PCB students after 12th year , with diverse career trajectories and numerous chances in India .

  1. A B.Sc. in Agriculture is a good choice if you have a strong interest in farming, agri-food, and sustainable techniques . It provides access to jobs as an agronomist, farm manager, agricultural officer, research scientist, and other positions in private agribusiness companies or government agencies like ICAR, FCI, and NABARD. You can pursue careers in agricultural economics, horticulture, animal husbandry, crop production, and soil science.
  2. For people who are interested in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and the pharmaceutical sector, however, a B.Pharmacy is the best option . Recent graduates can work as clinical research associates, quality control/assurance officers, drug inspectors, medical journalists, pharmacists (in hospitals or retail settings), etc.

Given that both sectors are expanding and have bright futures , the decision between the two will rely on your personal interests and professional goals .

All the best!

i have 170 cut off mark.can i join any tamilnadu government agriculture college

Nikita shahi 2nd Aug, 2025

Hi Vijay!

A cut-off of 170 marks in Tamil Nadu Agriculture University exams can indeed be considered borderline for government agriculture colleges, especially under the General (OC) category including flagship institutions like TNAU Coimbatore or Madurai. However, if you belong to BC, MBC, SC, or ST categories, 170 can still open doors, particularly in the second or third rounds of counselling. Admission is often based on PCM/PCB scores with agricultural-based weighting.

For exact cutoff trends and more details about Tamil Nadu Agriculture university you can check this;

https://dqxeclau.top/university/tamil-nadu-agricultural-university-coimbatore

Don’t lose hope even if top colleges don’t work out you can still gain admission to regional government-affiliated or self-financed colleges, which have good departments and are recognized.

All the best ahead!

With 97 out of 240 in KCET and a rank around 3074 in Agriculture, you have good chances for BSc Agriculture in reputed colleges. In recent years, top colleges closed around 4000–5000 ranks for General category, so your score is strong enough to secure admission in the first rounds of counselling.
