i want to pursue B.Sc in Agriculture but my scores in CUET are not good enough for good colleges. I m a general category student. Can you suggest me some good colleges under 400-500 marks in Agriculture field ? But not private universities.

Ayush Madanpotra 25th Jul, 2025

If your CUET score is between 400–500 and you belong to the general category, getting admission to top central universities for B.Sc Agriculture might be a bit difficult, but there are still many good government colleges (state or deemed universities) where you can try. Some colleges don't depend solely on CUET and have their own entrance or merit process. Here are a few suggestions for you:

You can consider applying to:

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University, Pusa (RPCAU), Bihar – accepts ICAR AIEEA or CUET, and has slightly flexible cutoffs for general category.

Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU), Andhra Pradesh – state-level admission through AP EAMCET, not CUET.

Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV), Chhattisgarh – conducts its own entrance exam or considers state board merit.

Bihar Agricultural University (BAU), Sabour – offers admissions through BCECE exam, not CUET.

Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar – conducts OUAT entrance exam, and your CUET score is not needed.

Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV), Rahuri, Maharashtra – admits through MHT-CET and not CUET, and it is a well-reputed government agri university.

Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore – based on Class 12 marks and TNAU counseling, not CUET.

If your CUET score is low, focus more on state-level agricultural universities or ICAR-affiliated ones which allow other admission criteria.

Good afternoon sir I am ajeet pal From-khaga fatehpur I have done class 12 in 2025 from agriculture student Sir admission Lena chahta hu bs.c agriculture me to addmission ka process janna chahta hu

Rupsa Banerjee 25th Jul, 2025

Dear aspirant,

To take admission, in B.Sc. Agriculture, you usually need to appear for an entrance exam. Some of the popular ones are CUET, ICAR AIEEA, state level  exams like BCECE etc . But some universities also offer direct admission based on yours 12th marks . You must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Agriculture. So if you don't want to appear for an entrance exam, just fill out the online application forms in your preferred colleges and wait for the merit list to come out. Make sure to regularly check the official websites of the colleges or universities you’re interested in for deadlines and application forms.

Thank you.

what is the cut off for btc bilaspur agriculture University for bsc agriculture and in cuet icar counselling is their any state quota will i get any reservation because i am resident of CG only

Nikita shahi 20th Aug, 2025

For BTC Bilaspur Agriculture University, admission is done through CUET-ICAR counselling. The cut-off varies every year depending on the number of seats, category, and the difficulty level of the exam.

  • If you belongs to  General category, the cut-off usually stays between 350–400 marks in CUET.
  • For OBC, SC, and ST categories, the cut-off is comparatively lower, often between 250–320 marks.

Yes, there is a state quota available. Since you are a resident of Chhattisgarh, you will be given preference under this quota. This means your chances of getting a seat are higher compared to candidates from other states. However, the exact cut-off can shift each year, so you should keep an eye on the official counselling notification for the latest details.

Thank you!

i got 48 marks and rank is 35000 I wont haa agriculture seat

Deepthi Pradeep 23rd Aug, 2025

With a score of 48 marks and an overall rank of 35,000 in the ICAR AIEEA UG exam, securing a government seat in B.Sc. Agriculture is highly unlikely. Typically, candidates with scores above 300 have better chances of admission, with those scoring 450 or more being more competitive .

However, all is not lost. You might still have opportunities in private agricultural universities that accept ICAR AIEEA scores. Institutions such as Lovely Professional University (LPU) and Shoolini University offer B.Sc. Agriculture programs and may consider your score for admission .

If you're determined to pursue this field, consider the following steps:

  • Explore Private Institutions: Research and apply to private universities that offer agriculture courses and accept ICAR AIEEA scores.

  • Reattempt the Exam: With focused preparation, aim to improve your score in the next ICAR AIEEA UG exam.

  • Consider Related Fields: Look into allied courses such as Horticulture, Forestry, or Agricultural Engineering, which might have different admission criteria.

Remember, persistence and strategic planning can open doors to your desired career path in agriculture.
