my son marks Maths- 35, physics-46, Chemistry-45, so what is my cuttof now 2020.

Sunil Kumar singh 31st Aug, 2020

Hi dear,

According to last year the minimum cutoff for Anna university was around 138. This year counseling will start on 17th September. So you should wait. Final cutoff may decrease if difficulty level has increased this year. So it is better for you to wait till final cutoff release by college.

Hope it helps

my cutoff is 145 , bcm Catogary and I applied for tnea counselling which college I want to choose for choice filling in orderwise for chemical engineering 1.cercri, 2.anna university 3.ssn 4.cit, coimbatore 5.kongu , 6.sri venkateshwara college 7.st.joseph

Sharon Rose Student Expert 30th Aug, 2020

Hello,

Here is the cut off for the following college that you have enlisted for admission to Chemical Engineering. Please check them and you may arrange your preferences which are close to the cut off in 2019 and your cut off

  • CERCRI: 189
  • SSN: 179
  • CIT: 180.5
  • Kongu Kongu Engineeing College: 126.5
  • Sri Venkateshwara: 143
  • St. Joseph's College of Engineering: 118

Based on this you have decent chances of getting seat in St. Joseph's, Sri Venkateshwara, Kongu Engineeing College and tough chances of getting seat in other colleges listed above. So you may keep St. Joseph's, Sri Venkateshwara, Kongu Engineeing College as first three preferences and remaining colleges following. Anna University does not offer Chemical Engineering. But you also need to consider in which college you are interested to seek admission so if you are interested in SSN, CIT, CERCI then you may also keep as your highest preferences.

Cut off may increase or decrease depending on number of candidates applied, number of seats available etc.

I have score 930+ rank in Tancet with 34 Actual marks and with 93 percentile. I am from MBC category. may i know which college, i can get ? Is it possible to get into Anna University. I will be attending the second day of counseling, what colleges are available at that point?

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 30th Aug, 2020

Hello,

You have not mentioned for which degree course you are joining.

As per your percentile/ rank, yes you are eligible for Anna university. You are eligible for 1st tier college list. so you can apply for those college options respective to your degree.

for 2nd counseling round, There will be almost 40-50% of seats will be left out for 2nd tier college. for 1st tier college, 20-30% college seats will be available. Anna University is 2nd tier college. There will be high possibility to get so do apply and go with the process.

Hope it helps!

Hello.

We do not know 2020 cut off but we can predict by seeing the last year cut off which college you can get.

  • Annamalai University: CSE
  • Mount Zion College of Engineering and Technology: Civil
  • Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology: Civil

Anurag Khanna 29th Aug, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

If you want to get admission in Anna University in any department then you have to sit in Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA)  counselling process. TNEA counselling process is done solely on the basis of 10+2 score, a merit list will be prepared by the authorities on the basis of your marks scored in 10+2. Till now cut-offs for this year is not released so I can guide you on the basis of previous year's cut-off to give an idea. According to the percentage mentioned by you in the question you have very decent chances of getting seat in ECE branch in Anna University as per previous year's cut-off which you can also check from the link given below :-

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 27th Aug, 2020

hi,

see to get admission in colleges under anna university, you need to appear in TNEA counselling conducts by anna universirty. around 500+ colleges participate in the anna university admission process, however the cutoff score varies year to year and depends on certain factor like number of applicant, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, choice of stream etc. however as per your score you have less chances in ece branch of rajlakhmi college. you have fair possibility of selection in aeronautical engineering.

you may use careers360 tnea college predictor tool to know about your probable colleges,
