As of this year, the IITs have dropped the 12th board criteria. So you don't have to worry about the JEE. Just focus on the exam and prepare well for it. The cutoff will decide whether you can get a seat or not. The seat also depends on which branch you opt for. As different branches has different cutoff marks in each college.

Congrats for ur hsc results! On seeing ur cut off I can say that u will come under second round counselling. But four top courses such as CSE,IT,ECE,and MECH in thiyagaraja engineering college will be filled by the first round counselling itself. So u don't have chances to get into thiyagaraja college if u choose ece stream.

But don't lose your hope. Try applying in different colleges. There are many best colleges in tamilnadu under tnea counselling.

TNEA cut off is out of 200 marks. Marks scored in Mathematics out of 100 marks and marks scored in Physics+Chemistry out of 100 marks will be considered to calculate the cut off. A common merit list is prepared after the marks are normalized in relevant subjects of different boards.
