What is the procedure for taking admission in Karnataka colleges in architect
Hi dear,
Hope you are doing well!
Now let's go through your question.
Youcan get admission in B. Arch. by appearing in NATA entrance exam which is conducted by Council of Architecture every year and qualifying examination from a recognized university or board.
There are various colleges which are taking admission of students through this entrance exam.
The participating institutes of NATA are the colleges and universities that used NATA scores for admitting candidates to their B.Arch course.
For Karnataka the seat intake is around 896.(through NATA).
Points to be noted:
- COA doesn’t conduct admission counselling. It is only responsible for conducting NATA, which is the qualification exam for admission to B.Arch course.
- The participating institutes of NATA conduct separate counselling sessions.
- To be eligible for counselling conducted by these institutes, one needs to qualify NATA. In other words, the candidate has to meet the aggregate and also component-wise minimum marks determined for the exam.
- Each institute is free to decide their own counselling norms, so the mode and process may vary from one institute to another. For example, apart from the eligibility criteria prescribed by COA, the candidate will also have to meet any additional eligibility criteria that the institute may demand.
- There are some 477 institutes that offer admission to their B.Arch courses based on NATA scores.
Thank You & All the best!

I get 64.76 percentile in state board and get 81 percentile in jee main and 91 marks in nata can I get admission in gov.college of architect
Hey Khushbu, Congratulations on scoring 64.76 percentile in State Board and 81 percentile in JEE MAINS and 91 marks in NATA. Unfortunately, there are very fewer chances of yours being getting admission in Government College of Architect because that requires very high percentile but you can get a seat in some good colleges at this rank. You can check your colleges and explore them properly and choose the best one for you. I will personally suggest you to first check colleges in your home state and that will be very helpful for you.
My percentile in jee paper 2 (arch) is 85 ,can l get NIT colleges in karnataka for architect colleges?
Hi Karthik,
According to your percentile, your rank would be around 20000 which is not bad but not good enough to get any NIT or SPA.
You need to have a rank of under 1500 for the general category under 3000 for SPA's.
You need to have a percentile above 95 to stand a chance in any NIT.
Hope this helps you.
All the best!!!
Im a 2nd Year B.Arch student. I need help to make my portfolio for internships. Can you suggest some apps which i can use to make it?
Hi Namita,
A good portfolio makes the perfect impression with the employer. Instead of making it in already made templates through apps and websites, you can go for some graphic designing works where you can a portray your portfolio in a more a creative way and that would be very impressive for job profiles. Look for freelance graphic artists who can help you.

- Your graduation marks are always important but not more than your ability, your motivation, your knowledge, and your zeal to work in this profession.
