Khushi Goyal 22nd Aug, 2021

Dear Student,

The candidate must pass their 12th class. But a candidate cannot directly join army after his/her 12th. Candidates must appear for NDA Entrance Exam. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the National Defense Academy and Naval Academy (NDA & NA) exam which is a direct gateway for Indian male candidates into the Indian Defense forces.

Depending on which branch you choose to join, the educational qualifications will change. Candidates for the army, air force and naval wings, as well as the Indian Naval Academy, will be required to pass 12th class of the 10+2 pattern.

To Join NDA After 12th :-

  • Candidates who meet the minimum eligibility criteria of NDA can apply for it.
  • To apply for NDA candidates will have to visit the official website of UPSC and apply online.
  • Only male candidates in the age group 16.5-19.5 can join NDA after the 12th.
  • Those who successfully apply for UPSC NDA will have to appear in the NDA exam and qualify for it.
  • Post qualifying in the NDA candidates will have to go through a course for the initial 3 years.
  • After completing the course, they will be stationed as a lieutenant in the Indian defence services.

As per the eligibility criteria, only unmarried male candidates who have completed their Class 12 or equivalent examination can apply for the exam. The eligibility criteria also include nationality, age limit, educational qualification and physical standards which candidates need to fulfil in order to be eligible for the exam.

My cousins DOb is 4th Dec. 2003 He will be giving the 12th final exam in April/May 2023, what all options he will have for joining the army after the 12th?

Atul Singh 20th Aug, 2021

Heyy there,

One of the best way to join Indian Army after 12th is to give the NDA entrance exam or go with the TES entry and for both the age limit is 16 1/2 to 19 1/2 and you will apply apply the application form only when your age is between 15 1/2 to 18 1/2. And your ward will cross the age of 19 at the time of his passing the 12th exam. So he will not be eligible to Join Indian Army as a officer.

Another method is that he can participate in rally of his stata where the age limit is 17 1/2 to 21, so here is that one chance where he can join Army after 12th as a soldier.

Good Luck :)

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 2nd Sep, 2021

Hi Anushka

In AFMC, there's no caste/ category based reservation. Though 10 seats are for SC/St but sc/st candidates are eligible for it only if they come under 500 rank in the combined merit list of boys and girls.

In AFMC, Pune there are a total of 150 mbbs  ,seat distribution is given below

Category

Number of seats

Male

115

Female

30

Sponsored by Ministry of Home Affairs

5

Total seats

150

It's quite difficult to predict the marks required to get a seat in AFMC but yes  when we go through previous year trends then last 3 years neet cut off for mbbs is given below

Gender

Neet cutoff 2020

Neet 2019 Cutoff marks

Neet 2018 Cutoff marks

Boys

618

596

551

Girls

637

610

You can check the same at

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/afmc-mbbs

But ,

cut off marks keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the examination etc

So,

If you want to get into afmc, you need to target at least   650 marks in neet 2021 examination to be on the safer side

After qualifying neet cut off of AFMC , you will have to give some additional examination to get admission in AFMC , that is :-

--------------) Test of English Language, Comprehension, Logic, and Reasoning which is called ToELR,

--------------) Psychological Assessment Test i.e. PAT,

--------------)  Interview

After clearing these, finally you will have to go through your Medical Examination then finally you are selected for admission in AFMC.

Also,

To be eligible for AFMC mbbs,

********* you should pass all the subjects in your class 12th in your first attempt  with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and must  get at least 60% in aggregate of PCB  i. e Physics, Chemistry and Biology  and at least 50% marks in English and 50% marks individually in each of PCB , also should have studied and passed maths in the class 10th.

can i apply for tes army without jee

Atul Singh 14th Aug, 2021

Dear Aspirant,

Yes, you can apply for the TES entry without giving the JEE entrance because they shortlist the candidates only with the merit bases for the SSB interview. And if your percentage is more than 87% then somewhere you are in the safe side, you might get call letter for the SSB.

And if you want to apply for the Navy 10+2 b.tech entry post then at that post they will ask you the JEE score and if you don't have then you will not counted as eligible student.

Good luck:)
