In Maharashtra FYJC (First Year Junior College) admission for the arts stream, the cutoff percentage depends on the college and the admission round.
In 2025, in Round 2, many good colleges had cutoff marks between 86% and 89%. Some top colleges like Fergusson College and Sir Parashurambhau College had higher cutoffs, around 94% to 96%.
By Round 4, the cutoff in most colleges was still around 85% or more. Students who scored less than 85% found it difficult to get admission into good colleges.
If you want admission in arts stream in a good college, it is better to have marks above 85% in your SSC exam. The cutoff can change every year depending on how many students apply and how high their marks are.
You can check college-wise cutoff lists and updates on this official website: https://mahafyjcadmissions.in
Hi,
A D.Ed course is a 2-year diploma for students who want to become teachers in primary schools . The course is approved by NCTE and is conducted by state boards across India.
During both years, you’ll do theory + practical sessions. Internships are compulsory in nearby schools. The focus is on child development, lesson planning, communication, and teaching skills. After D.Ed, you can apply for government teacher jobs through TET or go for B.Ed if you want to teach higher classes. It’s a strong course for a long-term teaching career.

Best wishes to you!
Yes, you can fill arts subjects in CUET (UG) even if you are from the PCB stream, and still apply for BA Political Science at Delhi University. Your 12th stream does not limit your subject choice in CUET — what matters is the subject combination required by the university/course you're applying to.
For BA (Hons.) Political Science at DU, most colleges ask for the following in CUET:
Domain Subject: Political Science (if available), or any related subject like History, Sociology, Psychology, etc.
Language Test: Usually English or Hindi.
General Test: Optional for some colleges but useful if required.
Since you're from PCB, you can still choose Political Science, History, Sociology, etc. as your domain subjects for CUET, even if you didn’t study them in 12th. CUET allows cross-stream applications as long as you meet university-specific eligibility.
check the official portal of SEBA OR CBSE based your school or college . if there is any new updates on it it will be shown at the very top of the website or portal and if not keep checking for any official notice posted by the very same boards .
if you have secured 44% and you belong to the reserved category that is sc , yes it possible for you to get seat in colleges for arts stream .
There are several online platforms which provides previous year question papers of CUET exam. One of which is careers360, the link of which I am attaching here,

I hope this helps you.
Best of luck for your preparation.
It is not possible to definitively say whether admissions are open for intermediate 11th grade arts for the current year. Admission timelines and processes vary significantly depending on the specific school or board (e.g., UP Board, CBSE, etc.) and can be different even within the same board.
It is recommended to contact the schools directly or visit their official websites for the most up-to-date and specific information regarding admission deadlines, procedures, and available seats in the Arts stream for the 2025-2026 academic session.
Hi Vedica, With 589 marks, it is hard to get a BA (Law and Political Science), a BA (Hons) in Sociology, and a BA (Hons) in History in Tier 1 colleges of Delhi University's north campus and Tier 2 colleges of Delhi University. But you can expect admission to Tier 3 colleges. You can also apply to universities, like Banaras Hindu University (BHU) Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi Allahabad University CUET cutoff: https://university.careers360.com/articles/cuet-cut-off CUET Counselling: https://university.careers360.com/articles/cuet-counselling CUET UG 2025 College predictor: https://university.careers360.com/cuet-college-predictor All the best, Thank you. Hello,
To help you better, it would be good to know the name of the university or college you are asking about.
CUET UG scores are accepted by many universities, and each has different cut-offs for courses like BA (Hons) Sociology, BA (Law and Politics), and BA (Hons) History.
With a score of 589 , your chances depend on:
The university you’ve applied to
The cut-off scores for each course last year
Your category (General/OBC/SC/ST, etc.)
Please mention the university name and category , so we help you better.
Hope it helps !
