I passed out 10 from Meghalaya and 10+2 from Assam and my parents are residents of Assam for over more than 20 years. So will I get seat under 85% state quota in Assam Government Medical College.

Shivam Gupta 15th Jan, 2022

Hey Aspirant,

Hope you are doing great,

As you want to get state quota in Assam for the government medical college for the state quota the eligibility criteria is that the candidates must have completed/appear in their state's 10th and 12th grades. The candidate must be a legal resident of the state. The candidate must have proof of state residency.

my score is 443 I belong to sc category can I get govt medical college through aiq I have Assam domicile

piyush263001 14th Jan, 2022

Hello,

--- With details you have provided I expect your All India Rank to be around 1,40,696.

------ Now if we go by the previous year data (2020) for All India Quota Counseling then last candidate from SC category to get a MBBS seat in Government Medical College was in Govt. Sivagangai Medical College, Sivagangai and had All India Rank 80,389.

------- So considering this data your chances of getting MBBS seat in GMC seems very grim.

Cut-offs for colleges change every year depending upon several factors such as-

• Number of applicants in NEET exam

• NEET question paper difficulty level

• Score of the candidates in NEET 2021 result

• MBBS/BDS seat matrix 2021

Though it was expected that due to higher difficulty level of examination cut-off for colleges will decrease, but it turns out students have performed exceptionally well and the cut offs for colleges is expected to increase compared to last year.

Assam University (agricultural engineering) VS guru ghasidas University (IT) which is better?

Ashish Ramtari 12th Jan, 2022

it is quite difficult to tell only about two courses. However, I am mentioning below the overall points of comparison between Assam University and Guru Ghasidas University for better understanding which university is better:

Assam University:

  • Assam University has got 101 position by National Institute ranking framework.
  • Assam University faculty members have done their PhD degree in the respective subject of teaching.
  • The average salary which you can expect a month is 20000.
  • Thyrocare laboratories, Ajanta Pharma are the major recruiters.

Guru Ghasidas University

  • Guru Ghasidas University has got 44 ranking for pharmacy by National Institute ranking Framework 2020.
  • Guru Ghasidas university faculty members qualifications are not available.
  • There are average placements with 60 to 70% students get placed.
  • Average salary is about 30,000 to 40,000 per month.

It can be sad that Assam University is some more better than Guru Ghasidas University.

There are definitely 2 seats reserved for freedom fighters blood relation in MBBS in Assam. 3 seats in UP and Uttarakhand. This was stopped in Tamil Nadu in 2018 by Chennai High Court. Which other states are still having this provision?

Shivani Gupta 21st Dec, 2021

Hello aspirant,

Reservation for freedom fighter blood relatives is  not applicable for all india counselling but it you can avail the quota for state counselling.

I believe that Haryana too offers 3% of reservation for freedom fighters blood relatives- with 1% being for general category, 1% for SC and 1% for other backward classes. Hope this helps. All the best!

can change to attend neet counseling obc ncl marks 392 assam 2021

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 30th Nov, 2021

Hi

Yes, you can attend assam neet counselling and all india counselling as well.

This is because,

With 392 marks, You have qualified neet examination 2021

Neet 2021 qualifying cutoff  for different categories is : -

.                   NEET 2021 CUT OFF

Category      percentile  Cut off marks

General/ EWS     50th      720-138

General-PH        45th       137-122

SC                       40th         137-108

ST                         40th          137-108

OBC                      40th           137-108

SC/ST/OBC-PH   40th        121-108

It is difficult to make prediction as cut off keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like

------------) number of students that appeared in the neet exam,

------------) kind of marks obtained by them ,

------------)  toughness level of the neet examination

------------)  number of seats available

------------) the category you are from etc

But when we go through previous data then ,

>>>>> with  392 marks ,

You hold  a low chance for an mbbs seat in a Government Medical College

For example,

in neet  2020, 425 marks for obc category was the lowest mark to get an mbbs seat in  Government Medical College,   under Assam  State quota and it was for Dighu Medical College, Diphu

You can check the same at

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cutoff-assam

But yes,

You have chances in deemed universities for mbbs which are listed below along with their cut off rank in neet 2020,2nd round all india counselling conducted  for 100 % deemed university seats   :-

----------) B.L.D.E University, Bijapur:- 387 marks

----------) MGM Medical College, Navi Mumbai:- 380 marks

----------) Institute of Medical Sciences and SUMH, Bhubaneswar:-360 marks

----------) Sri Siddhartha Medical College DU, T Begur:- 328 marks

----------) BVDU Medical College and Hospital, Sangli:- 311 marks

----------) Saveetha Medical College, Chennai:- 265 marks,

----------) Dr. DYP Edu. Soc. Deemed Uni., Kolhapur:- 262 marks

And a few more

I have Scored 272 Marks in NEET 2021. Can I get a Govt. Medical College in Assam? I have a Severe Stammering Problem. Can I get a PWD Certificate with Speech and Language Disability? Please anyone tell me. Har Har Mahadev.

Pragya sarwaiya 4th Jan, 2022

Hi Rohit

For your knowledge, PWD does not include speech disability criteria in it so I am afraid there is no PWD category benefit for you to in NEET.

If your speech disability is more than 40 percent then you are not eligible for any medical course. But you can definitely try for other courses.

If it's less than 40 percent then you can apply for medical courses.

Since you have not mentioned your category, I will assume that you belong to general category. If your stammer issue is not that severe please give another attempt to get MBBS course.

Best of luck!

I have scored 358 neet, obc, can I get assam bams colleg????

Kashish Saxena 24th Nov, 2021

Hello aspirant,

In Assam there is only one government Ayurveda College which have around 50 seats for BAMS course. According to previous year cut-offs trend, at your score you have low chances for you to get government college for BAMS in Assam. One must score atleast 390+ marks in NEET UG exam.

But remember that cutoffs changes every year due to various factors such as number of students attempted exam and number of students participated in counselling, difficulty level of exam, reservations and more. So nothing can be predicted with certainty until the official announcement of cutoff.

However you can try for private BAMS colleges in other states. Some private ayurvedic colleges for your consideration are as follows:

  • Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, Gurgaon
  • Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune
  • J S S Ayurveda College, Mysuru
  • Dr D Y Patil University, Navi Mumbai
  • Seth G R Ayurveda College, Solapur

For more college options at your score you can use our NEET UG college predictor tool too which provides you elaborate information regarding the suitable colleges:

Hope your query is resolved.

Riya 24th Nov, 2021

hello aspirant

  • According to the past year cutoffs its quite difficult for you to get BAMS in government college under state quota as well because the minimum marks for government BAMS college is 400+.
  • Anyways do not lose hope and you can try your luck in any of your state private college for BAMS.
