What is the cost to become a Neurosurgeon in Australia after completing MBBS in India?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 26th Mar, 2020

First of, you need to remember that Australia has the lowest conversion rate to residency programmes and even lesser for surgical specialisations. Now if you have completed your MBBS in India, you will have to appear for AMC exam and clear the exam. Then you have to pursue an internship for atleast 2-3 years before you become eligibile for a Residency programme. It ideally takes 4-5 years to get into a residency programme in Australia. The fees might vary from 12,000-15,000 Australian Dollars. And this might change periodically. https://ama.com.au/careers/pathways/neurosurgery

Hello aspirant. So mbbs in Australia has usually the duration will be of 4 years. Fee structure depends on university. Some of the famous universities are

1. University of Sydney with fee structure of 64,500 Australian dollar per year

2. Flinders university with fee structure of 63,500 aud again

Here, it's not like an mbbs degree. You need to complete any undergraduation degree in india in science subject and then give mcat. There are two degrees MD and DO. Depends on your choice, you can choose the degree. So per year , this degree cost around 40,000 usd to 50,000 usd. So for 4 years. More or less it costs like around 2,00,000 usd.

Hope this helps

How much salary of BAMS in USA,Australia,UK and india

Yastika Kumar 3rd Mar, 2020

Hi Nagaswami,

Bachelor in Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery is not a recognised outside India. Although the chances are pretty less but even if you apply for VISA and get it on its basis it would be treated equivalent to Naturopathic Degree and you may not allowed to refer yourself as a doctor in these states so thinking about salary comes much later.
