BAD
Hello,
Which college are you enquiring about?
Nonetheless, see in general if you belong to science stream then yes, you can pursue graduation in arts whether is BA Program or BA Hons in any specific, and this has been happening since a long time as we see many candidates who have pursued 10+2 in science stream, later on they change their stream, however if you can name the college then we can help you our with the exact details for the same, the information I have provided is what happens in general, different colleges may have different criteria, however it's best you check out the official website of the concerned college in which you're interested in taking admission in order to know more regarding this.
Hello aspirant,
Now, a candidate can either do the three-level or only first (will get a foundational certificate from CCE-IITM) or up to the second level (will get a foundational certificate from IIT Madras). The B.Sc. degree you will get only after completing This level.
No doubt, the full degree course learning modules are designed as per the current industry demand. But if you opt up to the first or second level, then you will not get the chance to learn the entire learning modules, which are essentially needed for making yourself industry-ready. So if you are opting for a diploma or foundational certificate, then so many alternative data science certification courses are there through which you will get complete job-ready training.
Now you may say you will complete the B.Sc. program. Here comes the second point for disqualifying this data science course as the creditable one.
Reason#1: The course span (A crucial reason ): The entire B.Sc. programme courses duration is a minimum of 3 years. So planning for completing the entire program up to the degree level makes you wait for 3 years to get a job with a lucrative data science salary, even after completing the course you are pursuing. To start a career in data science, or better to say to switch your career to the data science discipline, this long waiting time becomes really risky (from the perspective of your career growth). Because at present, the data science field lacks promising and skilled talents, but within two years, the skill gaps will be quite manageable. Consequently, getting your first data science job will be much harder from now. Instead, you can get other data science and AI courses that get completed in a maximum of 12 months.
Reason#2: The course fees (Does not worth): The data science courses fees become approx 2.5 lakhs. If you consider up to the foundational level, then it will be 32,000 INR. For diploma level, it will be 32,000 + 1,10,000 INR. Even from the perspective of diploma level courses, the fees do not seem worthy because plenty of renowned alternatives are available, where you will get truly industry-ready diploma courses at much lesser course fees and at a lesser time.
Reason#3:- Integrated data science projects (the biggest reason for not choosing this course): From the courses and modules details provided in the IIT-madras, it seems the course is not associated with a hands-on capstone project prior to doing data science courses. This becomes the IIT Madras online course a big no.
Reason#4:- Placement assistance is missing (the course becomes completely worthless): The key reason for joining and IIT courses is to get 100% placement support and to get placed in renowned companies. This particular online course does not offer any placement support. This again deems the job-market competency of this course.
Suppose you are not satisfied with your current course and want to pursue another course to make your data science career future proof and growthful. In that case, you can choose any of the following institutes for pursuing an industry-ready artificial intelligence and data science course.
UpGrad
Simplilearn
Skillslash
Learnbay (highly recommended for working pros)
Jigsaw academy.
Best of luck
