B.A.M.S.
Hello,
Thanks for reaching out!
Yes, BAMS cut-offs can go down or up from year to year; they’re not fixed. Cut-offs are driven by several changing factors: the difficulty of the entrance exam (NEET score distribution), the number of applicants, total seats available in government and private Ayurvedic colleges, category-wise reservation rules, and whether newer colleges open or close seats. Typical year-to-year swings are modest — in many states you’ll see movement of a few marks up or down (say 5–25 marks) — but in unusual years (sharp change in exam difficulty or sudden seat increase), the change can be larger. Government college seats are more competitive and their cut-offs stay relatively higher and stable; private college cut-offs are usually lower and more variable. What matters more than trying to predict an exact decrease is being strategic: check last 3–5 years’ closing marks for your state and for each college you want, keep an eye on category-specific closing marks (SC/ST/OBC/EWS), and be prepared to participate in all counselling rounds (initial, mop-up, stray) because seat movement often happens later.

Best of luck,
Hello aspirant,
With a state merit rank of 26,000, it will be bit tough to secure a BAMS seat in SV Ayurvedic College, Tirupati, because this college is among the top government Ayurvedic institutions in Andhra Pradesh. The cutoffs for BAMS in top government colleges usually stay lower (better ranks) compared to private ones, as demand is high. However, you should still attend counseling rounds because sometimes seats in certain categories, like OC or general, fluctuate based on the number of applicants, reservations, and seat matrix. Apart from SV Ayurvedic, you can also look into other government and private Ayurvedic colleges in AP, as your rank might give you a chance there.
Thank you and all the best!
With a 26,000 state merit rank in AP and being from the OC category, it is quite difficult to get a BAMS seat in SV Ayurvedic College, Tirupati, as the cutoff for this college is usually much higher. You may get chances in other private colleges, but for SV Ayurvedic, the rank is not enough. u might check these given links and find what colleges u might get;

Hi Lakshay,
With your NEET score of 276 and AIR of around 5.14 lakh, getting a government BAMS seat in top-tier institutions might be difficult. However, you can still secure admission in reputed private colleges within your budget of 10 lakh for the full course.

Hii
If i give you clear information so for M.Sc Echocardiography, most Deemed Universities require candidates to have completed: - MBBS, B.Sc in Cardiac Technology, B.Sc. in Allied Health Sciences, B.Sc. in Nursing, or Equivalent in Life Sciences. - But BAMS is generally not considered as eligible Qualification
Still, eligibility rules vary by deemed university. Maybe some private universities has BAMS as eligibility criteria. You should check eligibility criteria on University's official Prospectus.
The Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), in Jamnagar, offers a BAMS, an undergraduate degree that has an annual fee of INR 56,540. To get enrolled in this course, you need to qualify in the NEET examination.
I hope it will clear your query!!
Hello student,
For Maharashtra, the NEET cutoff for BAMS in government colleges for the OBC category is typically around a 40th percentile, which translates to a score of 143-113. A score of 500-600 is generally considered a good score for securing a seat in a top college.
The actual cut-off rank will vary based on factors like the number of applicants and the difficulty of the exam.
For a more precise idea of the cutoff for your specific situation, it's recommended to:
1. Check the official website of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) Maharashtra: This will have the most accurate and up-to-date information on cutoffs for government colleges.
2. Consider the counseling process: The counseling process will be managed by both AACCC and state counseling bodies, according to Collegedunia.
3. Look at past years' cutoffs: These can give you an idea of the trend and expected range.
4. Consult with a counseling expert: They can provide personalized guidance based on your specific situation and preferences.

Since cut-offs are typically higher, there are few chances of getting admitted to top government colleges as a BAMS student with 287 points in the NEET and OBC-NCL categories under the U.P. state quota. However, under state quota, you might be admitted to private BAMS colleges or lower-ranked government BAMS colleges in rural areas. Every year, the cut off changes based on competition, seats, and difficulty. To increase your chances, you should also apply during AYUSH counselling rounds. You can get a better idea of potential colleges by looking at cut-offs from prior years.
If you scored 287 marks in NEET 2025 and belong to the OBC-NCL category, it will be very difficult to get admission in a government BAMS college. Most government BAMS colleges need at least 450 to 500 marks for OBC category students.
With 287 marks, your chances are better in private BAMS colleges. Some private colleges may accept students with marks between 250 and 380, especially under the management quota or in states with lower competition.
So, you may not get a government seat, but you can still try for admission in private BAMS colleges. Make sure to check counselling options and cutoffs for your state.
