Hello, My name is Shirin. I have done Bcom with computers (3 years) and then CMA (finance) (2 years). Recently I started working as a tutor teaching coding to school students. I want to pursue MS in computer Science in the US. AM i eligible? What are my options?

Jyoti Eyasmin 4th Aug, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

For Indian students, meeting the requirements is necessary in order to pursue an MS in computer science in the United States. Here is an examination of the same:

Candidates must hold undergraduate degrees in computer science that are at least as good as those offered in the United States. They might also hold a degree in any pertinent technological field. A 3.0 GPA overall is required out of a possible 4.0 GPA. It denotes a minimum B grade with 83–86% of the possible points.

The GRE score is one more requirement for eligibility for an MS in computer science in the USA. Scores between 292 and 328 are required for students to have a better chance. In this section, the majority of universities accept GRE cut-offs. For instance, Harvard University accepts GRE 292 but Stanford University requires GRE 328.University of Washington accepts scores of 300, while Carnegie Mellon University accepts 316.

English language competence exams like the TOEFL or IELTS require strong results. The minimum IELTS score need is often 7, while certain universities, like Carnegie Mellon University, require a 7.5, while others, like the University of Southern California, may take 6.5.

Application process -

To study abroad in the USA, you can immediately apply through the official websites of a few universities. To be eligible to apply, international students must have completed 16 years of formal education. The following should be included with the completed application form:

GRE or GMAT score report.

IELTS or TOEFL score report.

SOP (Statement of Purpose)

LORs (Letters of Recommendations).

certificates of employment, if necessary.

Activities outside of the classroom as listed in the application.

copies of passports.

Academic Transcripts in sealed envelopes, with the Principals/HODs' stamp and signature.

earlier exams' certified mark sheets.

Bank statements from the last three months serve as proof of funds. You must demonstrate that you have the financial resources necessary to pay for at least one year's worth of living expenses and tuition.

medical insurance papers.

whar is better bba or bcom ? ...which field has more job opportunities ? does doing really worthless ? is bcom really better ?

Sakshi Singh 2nd Aug, 2022

Hello,

BBA and B. Com. are two most promising UG programs. They have a wide scope and demands have been rising for graduates from this discipline. But they have some differences.

  • Bachelor in Business Administration is a 3 year UG program meant for students who want to pursue their career in management and business.
  • Bachelor in Commerce is also a 3 year UG program meant for students interested in accounts and financing.
  • A BBA graduate gets job opportunities like Financial Analyst, HR Generalist, Business Development Executive, etc.
  • A B. Com.  graduate gets job opportunities like Banking and Finance Officer, Financial Controller, Tax Consultant, etc.

As both fields are equally good, but the income of a B. Com. graduate is usually higher than those of BBA. Moreover B. Com. graduates have more job opportunities than BBA graduates. Both are equally good and one can pursue any of them based on their interest.
Hope it helps.

what is the difference between bsc finance and bcom finance?? which is better to become a financial analyst

Tanya Gupta 1st Aug, 2022

Hello,

There is not a huge difference between both the degrees. Both focus in the field of finance. However, B Sc (Hons) Accounting & Finance a better choice over B.Com : The programme treats both the subjects as science and thus uses a practical approach. It is more advanced and rigorous. The curriculum is updated and in sync with changing market trends.

Since you wish to become a financial analyst, you should definitely go for BSc finance as it will help you in your dream career.

I hope this helps,

All the best

what are the important topic for bcom entrance??

Nisha yadav 31st Jul, 2022

Hello aspirant,

Most of the questions will be asked from previous year's question papers so make sure to go through each paper carefully. They will be serious in the case for the questions then they will do a little research on Google and will copy and paste from other materials. Cover the whole topics of 11th and 12th core commerce subjects and everything related to that.

They mostly ask about Economics, the basics of accountancy, and commerce. Most of the questions were asked related to the current affairs of the business world.

40 marks for GK and 20 marks each for language skills, Numerical ability, and reasoning skills. Total 100 marks you can refer to RS Agarwal book for practice.

Go through different authors' study materials and different colleges' entrance exams because every college has its type of enterance exam.

Thank you

I completed my graduation in Bcom in the year 2015 where i got 49% and in 2022 I completed post graduation with firstclass from distance learning, is me elligible for CAT exams

Sayan 30th Jul, 2022

Hello,

CAT Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant must have successfully completed a Bachelor's degree programme in any stream from an accredited university or possess an equivalent credential recognised by the Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development.
  • The minimum bachelor's degree requirement for applicants in the general and NC-OBC categories is 50%.
  • Candidates from the reserved groups must complete the bachelor's programme with a minimum cumulative percentage of 45%.
  • Candidates who are waiting for their results or are in their last year of the programme may also apply. In these situations, a candidate must present a certificate by the stated date that has been granted by the Principal/Registrar of the College/Institution. The completion of the course's criteria should be attested to on the certificate.

So, if your post graduation degree have minimum 50% then you are eligible. As per your B.Com (//B.Com) degree, you are not eligible because you don't have at least 50%.
