With 250 marks in NEET, you won’t get a government BDS seat in Karnataka.

Fee structure and cutoff marks for bds and mbbs

Devanshi Goyal 6th Jul, 2025

HELLO,

For BDS and MBBS courses both fee structure and cutoff marks vary significantly based on the type of college like whether it is government or private , the specific institution and the state. Generally, government colleges have lower fees but higher cutoff marks , while private colleges have higher fees but lower cutoff marks.

MBBS FEES :-

  • For government colleges fees are typically low ranging from a few tens of thousand per year
  • Private colleges fees can range from 5 lakh to 25 lakh or even higher per year
  • In deemed universities fees can be significantly higher sometimes exceeding Rs20 per year

BDS FEES:-

  • Government colleges fees are generally low similar to MBBS in government colleges
  • private colleges fees can range from 2 lakh to 4 lakh or more .
  • Fees can be quite high similar to MBBS deemed universities

my ranking is 623181 sc catagory 69831 will i get bds govt seat in karnataka

SHUBHANGI SINHA 30th Jul, 2025

Hello,

A SC category rank of 69831 and All India Rank 623181 make it improbable that you will be elected to a Karnataka government seat. In general, your ranking is far higher than the cutoff ranks for Karnataka's government dental College, particularly for the SC category. However, You can apply for private dental colleges or other allied health sciences courses.

Can I get bds seat by scoring 185 in neet 2025

SHUBHANGI SINHA 11th Jul, 2025

Hello,

Unfortunately, getting admission in BDS is extremely difficult with score 185 in NEET 2025 particularly in general category as they often have significantly higher cutoffs. But You can still try for Private BDS colleges through management quota or NRI quota.

im from sc category with 167 marks in neet 2025 will i get seat in any BDS private college under private, management quota seats?

preeti kataria 16th Jun, 2025

If you are from SC category and have scored 167 marks in NEET 2025, then you have low chances in government BDS colleges, but you can still get a seat in private BDS colleges under management quota or in states with lower cutoffs.

My neet exam mark is 114. Can I get admission in BDS or BAMS as I belong to reservation category?

Abhilasha Agrawal 8th Aug, 2025

With 114 marks in NEET and a reservation category, getting a government BDS or BAMS seat is very unlikely, as cutoffs are much higher.

However, private BDS and BAMS colleges in many states do accept lower scores, so admission is possible there, though fees will be higher.

Chances improve if your state has more private colleges and you apply through the state quota. Exact possibilities depend on your state and category.

What is the closing rank for BDS in 2025

OISHEE BANERJEE 14th Jun, 2025

Hello aspirant

The closing rank for BDS in 2025 can vary a lot depending on your category and the type of college. For government BDS colleges under All India Quota, the closing rank is usually around 60,000 to 80,000 for general category, which means you’d need at least 450 to 500 marks. For OBC and other reserved categories, it can go a bit lower.

In private dental colleges, the cutoff can be much lower. Some colleges accept students even at 250 to 400 marks, especially through state quota or in later rounds of counselling. So if your score is not very high, you still might get a BDS seat, just probably not in a top government college.

All the best!

Will i get govt bds in 270 marks in telangana or all india quota with sc category

OISHEE BANERJEE 14th Jun, 2025

Hello aspirant!

With a score of 270 in NEET 2025 and belonging to the SC category, here’s how things stand regarding BDS admission.

You have cleared the SC qualifying marks, which generally range from 129 to 163 marks. This means you are fully eligible to participate in counselling. For government BDS seats under the All India Quota, SC students often secure admission with scores between 350 to 420. State quota cutoffs for SC can be even lower in many regions.

In your case, a score of 270 might be a bit low for the AIQ seats, but you still have a fair chance under the Telangana state quota. Government dental colleges in Telangana sometimes fill seats at scores below 300 for SC candidates, especially in the later counselling rounds.

Apart from that, you could also explore private dental colleges in Telangana. Many of them accept NEET scores in the 250 to 300 range for SC category students. If you’d like, I can help suggest a list of colleges that fit your profile based on your category and score.
